Mine look nice and healthy but they are taking thier time to germ. I have two cups side by side, one with some new ML seeds, and one with some 1.5 year old NL99 seeds (I use the underwater germ method). They were put into the water within minutes of eachother about 2.5 days ago. All the NL99 are open and about 1/4" long, the ML's look the same as they did the day I put them in. I do know they are slow starters, so I will be patient and see.

PS: what ever happened to Bluestreak?

Update: started em sunday (now wednesday), and 3/10 have small roots starting to show after a little precracking help.

If all goes well, these will be headed outside for some guerilla duty, perhaps a seed crop too. Perhaps to be X'ed with some NL/C99 at a later date.

Im surprised you say they didnt look healthy. All the beans I sent Gypsy, I personally sorted. Anyways, these beans have always germed much better just planting them directly into soil about 1/4 inch deep. Pre-cracking can really speed things up dramatically.

Yeah you gotta precrack the pointy end of the seed and you will see rapid results in germing. I notice that if the seed is not precracked it takes a few extra days at least for germination.
