GHSC Lab Reports Problems with Church Germination

Hi everyone,

We have had some complaints about our church seeds not germinating, as they should. We decided to re-test all batches of church that we have produced in the past couple of months, including the packets customers sent back to us. It was interesting to find that some seeds customers could not germinate, did germinate in our lab, but others did not, so we understand their frustrations.

The test results just came in and unfortunately from 3 very large batches of church there was 1 batch that had poor germination ratio of around 50% to 70% germination. This is unacceptable for us and for our customers, so we are taking immediate action.

This does not mean that the church seeds you bought will not germinate, but there is a chance (1/3) if you recently purchased your seeds, that they came from the batch we had problems with.

We do test all seed batches before we place them in packets and ship them out. However if we package 50,000 seeds, we cannot test them all, we test a percentage of the batch and at that time everything was ok.
We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused, and we encourage customers that have had problems with their church seeds to contact the vendor they bought them from to work out a replacement procedure. If you have a shop, please contact us to work something out.

If you want your church seeds replaced with another strain, this can be done directly, through the right channels, but if you wish to replace the church seeds with the same seeds, you will need to wait until we have completed all of our tests and the germination ratio is around 100% again.
We will keep everyone posted, including all of our official dealers.
Any questions? Feel free to post them on this page or email us through our website.

Don't let this discourage you from growing the church because it is a excellent strain and a great smoke!!!

take care

on behalf of the green house crew

It's great to see a breeder / seed company own up to their mistakes and take responsibility for it, rather than blindly throwing the problem in the "blame grower" pile.

I haven't grown or smoked any of your products yet, but so far it's great to see the attitude.

yeah thanks for the recognition. We are here to help, and bad germination ratio is something that can happen with a natural product.

The Church seeds are very affordable seeds, but money is money and our customers pay for a product that germinates and grows.

Unfortunately we discovered the bad germination ratio after some packets had already been sold through our distributors, so we felt it was our obligation to inform everyone about our findings.

Out of curiosity, what causes/caused bad germination rates on a particular lot? Certainly it isn't genetics, since you use the same cloned parents for making seeds right? Is it the way it's dried, or otherwise processed afterwards? Or is it the way it was stored? Age?

we are still investigating the cause of the poor germination ratio. we have also sent the seeds to a specialist at a university who will take a closer look that the embryos inside the seeds.

Anything is possible, but the most likely cause for the bad germination ratio most probably caused by the transportation channels the seeds went through.

We will let everyone know once we come to a final conclusion.

damn clowntown, you're keeping me busy today!

your attitude is pretty all right!

this is, what I call (customer-) support.
I had some of your bad "churches" also - and now I'm lucky that the replacement-beans, which I received last monday, all have popped and now are growing in my room.

I gotta say a huge "sorry" for my aggressive, trolling bullshit-postings in the "ghs fems" thread.

you guys are tight. I won't no more care about those bad publicity regarding greenhouse seeds.
I think it's time to visit ya shops in a-dam. soon.

VERY STAND-UP of you guys, this is the kind of stuff you must maintain in customer service. Again I say, maybe GHSco is making a turn for the better, only time will tell. KUDOS
