Nevada government to place marijuana

The Marijuana Policy Project won a huge victory on Friday, when a
federal judge ordered the Nevada government to place our marijuana
regulation initiative on Nevada's 2006 ballot.

U.S. District Court Judge James Mahan said Secretary of State Dean
Heller followed an unconstitutional procedure when he rejected MPP's
initiative in December ... and ordered him to immediately send the
initiative to the legislature when it convenes on February 7. The
legislature is then required to consider our proposal and either pass
it into law themselves (unamended) within 40 days or place it on the
November 2006 ballot (unamended) so Nevadans can vote on it.

The state has announced it will not appeal the ruling and will comply
with the judge's order.

^NICE!

Right on. Any victory, no matter how small is a step forward.
When I think of the places I wouldn't mind living, Vegas is definitely one of them. I really think that if anywhere in the US, Vegas should be one of the first places to have more sensible MJ laws. Hell, if they can pass laws regulating legalized prostitution, I gotta think they can do it with MJ. Of course, there's still ol Uncle Sam saying it's a no-no. But if one by one states stand up and say "these laws suck" eventually there will have to be a change. Cmon Vegas...I'm bettin on ya

When are the charges going to brough against Walters for violating state sovreignty as a Federal employee and member of the executive branch campaigning against Nevada and Missouri state ballot initiatives? When that happens, I'll be satisfied. But this is a nice first step

Great news! If we can get the Supreme court case, then all of this will have been worth the wait! Let's be sure to keep up the good fight!

Keep smokin,
