Vertical garden, flowering from seed ??

so I was looking as some of the various "cutting edge" techs and vertical gardens and flowering from seed seem very interesting

there are many factors that have me thinking this way

A) I have a good amount of seed I would like to use before I lose it

B) I can use various plant subjects on different shelves such as clones and flowering straight from seed on different sides of the cube (or oct) and produce and experiment simutaniously

C) flowering from seed seems to give optimum results with minimum height

D) it would give me fastest turn around results & hopefully shorten the trial by fire learning period

I have grown with most techs (nft, ebbb & flood, aero, promix, rockwool) and was thinking about using rockwool 6" cubes. These big rockwool cubes give the benefit of container gardening with results closer to an NFT output

I figured I could make real simple shelves (out of 1"x2", and some plywood)

I have alot of a great ak hybrid(clone and seed) and chronic (seed) and big blue (clone)

I am thinking of starting with 2 600w verticaly hung

What dimensions and spacing considerations would you take into consideration

What woudl you suspect the difference in plant count would be flowering straight form seed opposed to using clones?

Should I flower straight from clone instead?

and other advice woudl be appreaciated

Every vertical grow I've seen uses clones, mine included. I have 2k watts on a mover, and I use around 150+ clones vegged for 3 weeks... Uniformity is key with high numbers. A bunch of bag seed or whatever growing at different rates is gonna make growing vertical a bitch. Going from flat to vertical takes some work, but it's so worth it...

Bobblehead, how do you use a light mover with a vertical grow? Do you have a stadium set up? Forgive me if you posted pictures here before - my memory isn't what it use to be. Just curious as I too was thinking about using a mover and the more input and ideas I get the better. Thanks in advance!

TGT,
I just drew up a picture, but something is wrong with the gallery and I can't upload it.

Here's my specs. I have a 5'x10' stadium made of gutters. The mover sits in the middle, and moves 2', so 1' to each side. My mover is chain driven. I'll never buy another chain driven mover again! I attached a 3' 1x2 to the part where you hang the light, allowing me to attach a lamp at each end. I also put up another 3' 1x2 a few feet down, for added stability. I hang my lamps from chains attached to the second board. So, now my lamps are 3' apart from each other, and move back and forth 2'.

Something like that.

I've looked at your grows, and I bet you could do something similar. Good luck!

Cool, how does it work out, or is it your first time with this set up?

This is my very first run with 2k. I went from a 400w scrog, to 2 separate 1k stadiums on separate schedules, and then just decided to put them together. The light in the middle is so intense. I can't stand between the two lamps. I'm hoping for some fat buds.

The 420 Wookie will become famous soon enough
Out of curiosity, do you turn pots around periodically? Wouldn't only half of the plants receive light?
