TW info before i do my comparison

just a shot in the dark hoping for a little light, other then a video im about to run 3/4 TW strains including yours to see whats really TW and what isnt. didnt you say somewhere your cut used was arcata? what did you out cross it to since TW is mostly a clone? did you back cross it to arcata then? will these grow uniform or am i going to see a different plant in each GHS female? now its nothing but a jeopardy theme waiting for the company to answer....

The TW from Green House Seed Co. is an S1 feminized from a clone we acquired a few years back from an Arcata crew that brought it over to Amsterdam. I tasted the bud back then, and believe me when I say it is the real wreck. Besides me, many American refugees that now live in Amsterdam (and a few pot-celebrities between them....) have confirmed it.
The feminized seeds are quite uniform, you will have little variation (and a bit of variation is always nice anyway to select your keeper mother.....)
Take care because the TW is known to throw a few hermies if the conditions lead to any stress (mostly light-related or temp-related stress).
Many growers get nanners on their TW and they think is a genetic trademark, while it is just a very sensitive plant to stress. If cultivated in the ideal conditions it does not throw out any nanners.
Enjoy the TW test and keep us posted!
I am interested in the comparison......
:-)

Well i've just grown out Greenhouse's Cheese and Trainwreck. I've gotta say i'm somewhat disappointed with the Cheese, but the Trainwreck is quite superb -- and i havent even smoked her yet !!!
The yield on the Trainwreck is quite low though so I'd recommend vegging for quite a while (i put my first one into 12/12 straight away and only got just over 1oz of dry bud). But wow, the resin coverage is superb -- im not a "hash maker dood" but if I was I'd be guessing this strain would be awesome for making hash with because there's trichomes left right and center. The buds look gorgeous too - nice and tight rock hard chunky things, superb calyxes - excellent bag appeal.

And yeah like Franco mentioned ... apparently nanners aren't an uncommon thing with Trainwreck - that's just a genetic aspect of the strain tho, it has nothing to do with Greenhouse. But even if you do get some nanners the resulting beans will probably be feminised, altho ive also read that often the pollen is sterile

Question Whaaat

The REAL Arcata TW does not hermie! Believe me when I say I've had her in all kinds of adverse conditions, she will -not- hermie. BC

I've got no experience with 'the real Arcata Trainwreck clone', but I've read a lot of threads where people have said that the clone is easily susceptible to throwing out nanners ... ??

zombi3girl is on a distinguished road
I'm growing out 4 TW from greenhouse, the stems are nice and purple all over and the leaves are dark green, but how big does this plant get, I've got a small space and they were gifted so I'm wondering if I should flower them while they're still kinda small in fear that they'll outgrow my space.

zombiegirl it's one of the lowest-yielding plants I've ever grown so I'd say you don't have anything to worry about in regards to height or bushiness

abirdintheair, id just like to say thanks for taking on this challenge
I mean .... most people, when theyve got The Clone, wouldnt bother buying a seed version to try. But, a lot of ppl out there dont have access to the clone and only have access to the seed, so there are a lot of ppl out there who wanna know how 'accurate' the seed version is to the clone version

So if you go ahead with that comparison that'd be cool, cos not many ppl are in that position

*fingers crossed*

If it hermies, it's not the real cut. I know cuz this one I have has been through some real bad conditions ( newbie partners ), extrem cold, timmer fuck ups, over nuting, hell you name it, it's been though it. Read in the TW thread and I think yul see there is a cut that -does- hermie, but not the real one. There are many well respected growers that can back this up in that thread. Not tryin ta start shit here, jus wanna keep the info straight. Best of luck with whatever ya have. Take care...BC
