Ease of Medical card...

How easy is it to get a medical card in california and utah? Just wondering, because I would ever move there, I would more than likely be trying to attain one, but I'm not sick like many. Just have weak insomnia and lower back pain. If this is not an appropriate question, then feel free to erase this thread.

If you have it documented that you have insomnia or Lower Back pains You should be able to get a recommendation but you have to have proof! You'll need to Bring your Medical records with you or have them faxed to the Doc who's going to give you the Approval. Peace and Good luck!~ograskal

You actually don't need recorded medical history for a med card in most places in California. The bigger cities tend to like the documentation more, but its not necessary. Most the people I know that got a med card didnt have their medical history for there doctors that prescribed the medcards. All I had to do was tell them that I had mild back pain and light insomnia and I got my prescription. And my doctor is a highly credited doctor as well. He is one of the doctors that the Oakland card place recommends out of about 10 doctors. He is a doctor, so technically he documents your medical history for getting the prescription. I won't go to a doctor that wants to see medical history, because usually your doctor(not med mj doctor) won't let you get your information without another doctor asking for it and most of the doctors( med mj doctors) will say that they are prescribing marijuana to a person which will then go on your permanent health history. Basically labeling you a drug addict. I have a friend where they went as far as taking his driver's liscense because he got the prescription. not cool.
Richard White of Mendocino is a good doctor to use in California and is straight to the point in and out place. Hope that helps

Alot of Doctors here in So Cal would like the Proof to protect themselves from the Evil DEA. For instance, You cant even set up an Appointment to See DR. Denney unless you have some type of Proof (Medical Records, Prescriptions, etc.) They wont just give anybody that claims to have Insomnia a recommendation unless they have Proof. And thats how it should be in my Opinion! Peace. ~ograskal

While I know this to be the case....the doctors that aren't asking for any form of medical proof, are leaving themselves VERY vunerable...and I for one don't have a problem with the medical board reviewing/suspending ANY doctor that hands out a Recommendation/Prescription, WITHOUT a proper diagnosis...The Medical Movement is just that MEDICAL....with Cannabis's wonderful properties, it relieves a WIDE RANGE of medical "problems"....anywho just a little rant.....carry on....
