More info on the upcoming Chemdog release?

Hi folks

I'm interested to know the background and lineage of the upcoming Chemdog/dawg release, there are at least 3 different Chemdog/dawg cuts plus a load of crosses containing dog/dawg genes. So far I can;t find any info from GHS on their dog/dawg.

This is the origin, it's named after the guy who discovered and preserved the variety:

***Special thanks go to orgogliodiprovi and chemdog who helped me straighten out the story and exact details. ***

Brief background:

At a Grateful Dead show at Deer Creek Amphitheatre, 'joebrand' (aka 'wonkanobe') and 'pbud' met 'chemdog' and sold him an ounce of very high quality pot for $500. joe and chemdog exchanged numbers and they later arranged for two ounces to be shipped to chemdog on the east coast. According to chemdog, one ounce was seedless and the other had 13 seeds.

In ’91, chemdog popped the first 4 seeds. From these seeds, one male was found and disposed of (chemdog was young, you can’t blame him). The 3 females were labeled ‘chemdawg’ (now ’91 chemdawg), ‘chemdawg a’ (now chemdawg’s sister), and ‘chemdawg b’. In '01, chemdog and his girlfriend attempted to germ 3 more seeds, labeled ‘c’, ‘d’, and ‘e’. the ‘e’ seed never germinated, ‘c’ turned out to be junk (according to chemdog), and chemdawg ‘d’ was the keeper. In '06, 'chemdog' and 'joebrand' reunited and joe was given 4 of the last 6 beans: Chemdawg phenos 1-4, '4' being the chosen keeper. Joe thought the '4' was the best representation of the original and thus dubbed it the 'reunion pheno'. Chemdog still has two seeds left in his stash.

Chemdawg Crosses:
• 'OG Kush' (the original cut) came from an s1 from in a bag of '91 Chemdawg in the Lake Tahoe area in 1996.
• 'Sour Diesel' aka ECSD came from an accidental cross of ('91 Chemdawg x Mass Super Skunk/NL)x DNL after the DNL hermed and seeded the room. The DNL's lineage is NL/Shiva x Hawaiian.
• Original Diesel' (also known as Diesel #1, Headband, Daywrecker Diesel, Underdawg) came from a cross of '91 Chemdawg x (Mass Super Skunk x Sensi's Northern Lights) done by a guy known as ‘weasel’.

• 'chemdog' and friends made several crosses that are held closely by a small group of friends and acquaintances. Among them are:

1. Super Snowdawg (Bubble Chem x [Super skunk x Oregon Sno])
2. Giesel (Chem D x Mass Super Skunk)
3. Bubble Chem (Chemdawg’s Sister x Sag's Bubbleberry)
4. Dawg Daze aka ChemHaze (Chem D x ’93 Sensi's NL#5/Haze)
5. Chemdawg D x Pbud (another old-school Colorado strain)

JJ-NYC has been working on a Chemdawg D-based seed line for several years now. He started by crossing Chemdawg D to Sensi's Afghani after thoroughly testing both Sensi's Afghani and Sensi's Hindu Kush to determine which was more stable and would be better for the initial cross. JJ then did a backcross, known as "Double Dawg." Several phenos of this circulate and several people still have beans. JJ's latest work to the line is a second backcross known as "Tres Dawg" which is just starting to get tested.

Rezdog of Reservoir Seeds recently released several Chemdawg crosses as part of his 'Trinity' charity auctions. The crosses included Chemdawg D x Sensi's Hindu Kush and Snowdawg x Sensi's Hindu Kush, Chemdawg D x Sour Diesel IBL, Snowdawg x Sour Diesel IBL, ChemHaze x Sour Diesel IBL and Giesel x Sour Diesel IBL.

Which Chemdog version do you have? Can you show us some pictures of your Chemdog cut? Anyone who reads these forums knows many, may people have claimed to have an elite cut and it turned out to be fake, so naturally folks are sceptical. At least tell us which Chemdog cut your seedline is based on, that is a very basic piece of information and if you can't even give us that one snippet of information then you yourself are only fuelling people's scepticism.

Do not call me a hater, I am a grower and lover of cannabis and I want to see this Chemdog cut and know which one it is, without giving any details or showing any pics you are asking us to buy your goods sight unseen and that is something only a foolish person would do... You wouldn't buy a pedigree dog without first seeing it's pedigree and in many cases nto without seeing one or other of the parents of that animal. Why should cannabis seeds be any different? Chemdog is a well known variety, it has a pedigree in effect, so show us the pedigree details and the parent plant!

Here's some pics of the different Chemdog/dawg cuts, come on franco, show us a pic of your Chemdog so we can compare!

One concern I have is that folks who have grown the original dog/dawg cuts were judges at the 420 cup and were really surprised to hear that GHS had entered their dog/dawg as they didn't recognise a dog/dawg among the samples. I'm very keen to try some dog/dawg genes for myself but before I'm prepared to fork out my cash I want some pics and info!

I've already got a bunch of 91 Chemdog/dawg S1s, if the GHS release is an S1 of the dog/dawg D or #4 then I'll pick up a pack and do a side-by-side, but with no info on the release, I'm wary!

Erm, that is is one of the most stupid things I've read lately, do I sound anything like Rezdog? No, my posts are nothing like Rez. I'm British Hempire, been here for years, well-known and many folks here have actually met me in the flesh, I've met franco and Arjan many times.

I ask for pics and information about a new release and I do so in a nice, polite way, after all, many folks are very interested in this new strain but we want to know some information about it!

So come on Tornado, if you haven't got anything positive to add, just keep quiet!

Yeah, it's absolutely pathetic and simply would not fly in any other business, only because cannabis is a gray quasi-legal market can GHS get away with being so unforthcoming about their products.

I suppose this illustrates that GHS can shift plenty of product without giving out any info, who are these people that will grow seeds without knowing anything about them?

Here some info fellas, and I apologize if I cannot say it all:
the Chemdog is one of the latest strains to join the GHSC collection. The clone came from the west coast of the US, from a very well known and very respected breeder, one with a serious collection himself. I will not disclose his name.
He is a good friend of Arjan, and brought the original clone to Amsterdam.
Introducing the strain at the 420Cup was a first test, and it went pretty well......
people love this strain.
We are busy selfing it and we will release the S1 feminized seeds soon......
More I cannot say for now.
I like to keep you guys on your toes for a while.....:-)

Oh, and by the way:
when you buy a Ferrari, you are given all the specs, but not the company secrets that make the brand's success.
F1 spy-scandals of the last season showed how it goes in the real world.....:-)
