white widow germination question
hello everybody!
I recently purchased a pack of 10 green house white widow seeds for an outdoor project. I have started germinating 5 of them in 17.04. the germinating method is presoak for 12 hours than plant in sterilized potting soil using a 4W heating pad set to 23 Celsius. the problem is that none of the seeds sprouted. actualy 2 of them partialy emerged from the soil but they look very weak and it seems like they are goners already. a have to mention that with the same method and in the same time I am sprouting skunk 1, durban poison and sensi oudoor mix and they are doing just fine. so, my question: has anybody any xp with these particular seeds? any "special" germination techniques? or is just bad luck? |

hi zeeland.
I have 5 pack of fem WW and all germinated within 2-3days, 3 sprouted till now, waiting for other 2... no problems with them... just paper towell and soil... edit: 4 are out, the 5th is questionable, it was some twin, with 2 roots... Last edited by supersonic; 04-30-2008 at 11:48 AM.. |

Dunno on the WW bro, but I germed 19 (lost one) Himalayan Gold and every single one of them popped and are doing very well. No complaints here.

pre-soaking for 12 hours is fine, then go to paper towel and make sure temp is good, as well as darkness. They will pop for sure.
Sometimes in soil there are bacteria that can prevent good germination. |

that's fine, ideal temp is 20-24 celsius. Make sure there are no sources of dry heat nearby, and monitor RH (60-80% ideal)

well, after 3 days between towels, in 23 celsius, non of the seeds sprouted. out of 5 seeds, 2 did'nt even cracked and 3 cracked but that's all they did. practicaly, they are in the same stage as they were after the 24 hour presoak. so the germ rate was 0/10. now I feel lucky that I got the other 3 strains to work with. better luck next time.
