Core Beliefs and Marijuana...
Hello people,
Just thought I would kick off a discussion and see if anyone replies. First, I have been raised in the midwest my whole life. Was always in church and was a good kid until freshman year in high school and... then the proverbial shit hit the fan. Marijuana was ok, I enjoyed it and it calmed me down, but all the other hard stuff really took me down. So I quit everything for a while to get my head straight in college. I now toke occasionally as I am not a medical user now although I have slight pains in my back and shoulder from time to time and I also have nights where my mind races way to much to be normal. So to the point... I still go to church and consider myself a christian. I don't find anything wrong with it in The Bible except two scriptures. 1. Follow the laws of your land 2. Treat your body as a temple unto the Lord. Now, granted the second one doesn't have to apply here, I just assume smoking isn't the best for the old lung. Now this is an on going internal conflict within me probably because of the demonization of mj as I was growing up. but, I truly believe everyone on here about there medical marijuana use as it helps people feel better, and God said use everything on this earth that he has given us. Ok end of story didn't know if any one else has any problems within themselves due to there beliefs. Of course this isn't just limited to a certain religion. I just stated my own personal beliefs.

I too am a Christian and had the same conflict. However, it also says in the Bible that God put seed bearing plants on the earth for us to comsume and use. Just don't overdo it until it becomes an addiction.

IMHO - The Church needs to allow it as a Sacrament / It can be a very beautiful
Spiritual experience at times & IMHO makes people better humans / I have smoked sun-up to sun-down now for 30 years & stopped worrying about what everyone else thinks about it / including my pastor who is a good friend of mine & full well knows I smoke (my wife does not smoke) / |
