I'm trying to find a specific aroma and taste in a strain that I had a small taste of way back in '79 or '80. Am I thinking of sage?? This was my first intro to green weed... previously, all I had ever gotten was $35 oz brown. I recall the smell reminded me of sauasage and I believe the taste was also of sausage. Any clues would be appreciated.

I don't think SAGE was around till much later, though there were probably many cultivars that smelled of sage around at the time. Probably a spicy/piney indica you got hold of, as that would be the likely source of imported seed in '79-'80. Maybe it was Lebanese origin...?

I have a Chem DD pheno that smells like breakfast sausage...

might want to give it a try...

Word up, I smoked some stuff in the hay day's .. my 17 year old days now being 20. Some stuff that smell like greasy sausage.. ore old meat, very resinous and joints went out, 1 of the best 55 dollar quaters ever

and was a dark purple color or reddish brown kinda like reall dried blood

crazy stuff totally legit

some of the strongest bud my friend had when he was at U of Pacific smelled like ham, it was covered in trichs and had very wide leaves. not sure of the strain, i would guess hogsbreath though.
