Amnesia99 Grow, or my fun little experiment...
Hey all!
I first and foremost want to thank JLP for the new seeds. I would like to also thank Texas Kid and Rellikbuzz for some input on a few things and everyone else that has answered my questions. Now here's what's going on... I am trying hydro for the first time, I am using a DWC setup. I am doing my grow in a small cabinet that I built from an old crate. My little experiment is to see how my little cabinet does. I know it isn't anything fancy by any means. It will probably not yield a whole lot. I just want to see how well it does though (this is a shoestring budget grow for me). I soaked 4 seeds overnight on the 14th. I then put them in rockwool cubes the next day and all 4 plants came up. Plant 1 came up first, after 4 days. Plants 2 and 3 came up on day 5. Plant 4 came up on day 6 and there was a small problem with it, I got rid of it cuz of how slow it was. I also am germing another seed from a friend, a surprise plant. I will add this one in with the rest later. The pics are really bad on the account of my crappy $30 digital camera. LOL I will have to borrow someone's camera in the future when the plants get bigger. These pics are from day 7. I also have not used any nutrients at all yet, plain old water and air for two reasons. 1. Nutes have not arrived yet(AN grow, micro, bloom and pirhanna) 2. I don't want to overfeed them already, . My cabinet is lined with mylar. I am using a 125w CFL, 8000 lumens, cool white. I know I need more but this is an experiment. I have holes in the top and the cabinet is 5 inches off the ground with holes in the bottom also for ventilation. This seems to work cuz i can feel the air flow just fine. I will start and veg the plants in this cabinet and will move them to a closet for flowering. (I may just keep them in the cabinet and get a warm light or keep this light, the budget again.) I will try to keep this thread updated as much as I can, hope you all enjoy this as much as I do. The cabinet. The cabinet. The little ones. Plant 1. Plants 2 and 3. |

Lookin good so far. We have similar grow setups. I have a six plant DWC system. I'm growin from clones in this initial system. I'm going to building another system in a couple weeks that will be larger. I've got Golden Skush and POK x White Giant seeds that I'll be putting into those. I will stay tuned into this thread. I look forward to your updates.

You go, bro!! Glad to see ya getting your set-up up and running!! And a nice and clean set-up it is, Rule!! I'll be pulling up a chair to see how these babies grow as JLP bestowed some of those lovely beans on me as well. Hope to put em in the line up on the next run.
That hydro set-up should really bring the best out of your girls! Be sure to defer to Texas Kid on any advice as he's the man when it comes to "water works". Frankly, that hydro thing still baffles me a bit!! Best of luck Rule and how you can show the old dogs a few new tricks!!! RB

Explaining a little more...
OK, the idea of the cabinet set up is cuz i had an old phototron back in the day. It was my first experience with indoor growing. My cabinet is based on that in the use of mylar and the way it vents. The light was actually better in the phototron, I wish i could run a fluoro up and down each corner the length of the cabinet, maybe next time. I am also a bit nervous using the DWC, I did read about hydroponics and I felt this was an easy first go at it.
( I will be doing another grow soon using bio buckets. Big Toke has me sold on the idea, koodos to you my man. It will get posted also.) Hooked-On-Grown thanx for the support. MsHerbalivation and Rellikbuzz thanks for the support and you know I am watching your grows too. usawontstopme as far as the mylar burning my plants, I don't think the light is bright enough for that, I will keep an eye on that though, thanx. |

Hey rule...
I'm watching this thread very carefully as I received my amnesia99 beans today. I'm waiting to germ these until I move my current babies into flower. I'm probably about two weeks from that point so not too long. I'm excited for your grow man. Keep up the great thread rule...

Day 11
This is the first day that I have added some nutes. I am using AN grow micro bloom.
The mystery plant is catching right up with the rest. I germed the mystery bean for 3 days and no crack i was going to chuck it cuz I didn't want it to be too far behind the rest of the plants. The last time I checked it there was a root sticking out, so I quickly put it into a rockwool cube last night. I magine my surprise when I looked this evening at my plants and had about a new 1 inch plant coming up. That was fast! I tried to take a close up, but I still have the crappy camera. Blurry little one. All four plants. Clockwise from bottom right: plant 1, plant 4, plant 2 and plant 3. |
