430w SOG BubbaChunk x PineappleChunk Test Grow
howdy everyone
and welcome to my second grow i just completed my first grow about a month ago. i grew 4 blockhead and 3 lui x bh under a vertical 430w in a hydrohut in soil. i had some problems at first but ended up with about 10.5ozs after 3.5 months...not too bad considering...since then i've decided to ditch the hut and go with something a little more discreet. first i decided to build a new cabinet. the hydrohut was awesome but it was a little too big for my 1 bedroom apartment. i built everything from scratch using materials from home depot. i used 3/4" mdf board. this fucker is heavy, i'm glad i put it on 4 casters...inside dimensions are 28x28x48". i treated the inside with a water sealer. every wall is covered with mylar, including the door. i used BudBuddha's light-proofing method for this cab. it's lit by a 430w hps enhanced spectrum agro-sun. the cab is cooled by a 4" eco inline fan which blows into a 4" carbonaire filter. i'm using a mixture of foxfarms ocean forest soil, perlite and brick coco. i have 10 seeds of both dc x bk and dc x c99 in 20oz solo cups. in a couple weeks i'll transplant into 2 gallon bato buckets, of which i'll be able to perfectly fit 9. so, in summary: 10 Bubba Kush x Deep Chunk 10 c99 x Deep Chunk cabinet 28x28x48" 50% FF ocean's forest, 30% gh coco, 20% perlite 4" eco inline fan 4" carbonaire filter 20oz. solo foam cups ---> 2 gallon bato buckets advanced nutrients 3 part inside of cab ![]() light trap ![]() some of my BH from the last harvest

here's a day 3 update...
1 c99 died, not sure why...came up same as the others, no differences that i could see. during the 6 hour dark period, it just shriveled up and died...soil wasn't too wet, hadn't been watered yet, but it certainly wasn't dry...not sure what happened. i thought i was gonna lose another c99 but it seems to be getting better now. it was a strange one...popped the soil same time as the others but was bone white...didn't green up a bit for the first 24 hours under the light...fell over and started to dry up...this morning when i peeked in however it was standing upright and turning green...so i have high hopes for it pics of the sickly one are below... 19/20, not bad, better than my ratios last time... BK on the left, c99 on the right ![]() c99 ![]() BK ![]() and the sickly c99 that's getting better...

JC.. nice work on that set up ...
Who's the breeder of the DC crosses (if they don't mind us knowing)and are the DC the male or female.. The Bubba x DC has me drooling sounds like a perfect match. Be safe..

well nokuy, it really just depends on the plants. depending on their structure i'm either gonna let them go single cola or top them and form them into a natural scrog shape, iykwim? i'll go by each plant on an individual basis and place them in the cab so as to maximize their individual patterns..then i'll place spacers under the buckets and keep that canopy as uniform as i can...
so i guess this ain't really a true sog, but a bastard child thereof... |
