Question for EZ clone users???

If you just stick a cutting in the rubber piece how do you put it in a oasis cube before its anchored in rock? Do you just anchor the roots in rock? Im confused....

I dont have an Ezi-clner, but I do use a Ghetto version with a pump and an airstone, i was using a couple litle bubblers to play around with, now ive got some Aquafarms. I just put the roots str8 into the clay pebbles or whatever medium u will use in ur system. no problems doing it with bubblers, dunno about the farms coz they only been working 48 hours but the clones seem to have settled str8 in and stood str8 up to attention, I have to say tho, these wre grown on in soil for a couple of weeks to develop some nice roots after removing it from the bubble cloner, no wurriz though, just washed all the soil and perlite away,

Yeah just bury the roots under the rox should anchor it enough until they hold. You can use a rockwool cube to help with support but i just go straight to the baskets with rox and no more rockwool cubes . Good Luck Jubei

I just built a aero-cloner, once the roots have grown, i take each clone and carefully transplant it into a net cup with hydroton balls, trying to put the clone into RW is a waste of time, i would either start the clones in RW or just regualr transplant into a soilless medium like hydroton balls

I'm glad I read this smokey-cigars... I have some beans soaking and I was playin with the idea of taking them str8 to the hydroton balls and not even using the rockwool. Not sure if it would be safe for the beans though unless the taproot was long enough first. Wouldn't want it to fall out the netpot!!!

There was a thread here or over OG that a guy just out the seed right on top of the Hydrotron with a dripper nozzle right above dripping on the seed and then just let it do it's thing. It worked pretty well and once the roots are established you kill the top drip and go to misters, e&f, or bubbler setup.

Start with a 5"-6" netpot hangin down into your bubbler res or whatever you finish in

I was gifted a 60 site ez-clone for Christmas....what a nice wife...mwa.
I have seedlings in it now. I started some in oasis rootcubes, and some in the Jiffy7 starters. Once seeds sprouted, I physcially removed oasis rootcube from roots....very carefully.....split down the middle and gently coorced roots off of cube. I took the Jiffy7s' and just placed in bowl of water and gently swished water around.....removing all the peetmoss, dirt from around roots.
I placed these into the ez-clone via the neoprene collars........no medium....and the neoprene collars will fit perfectly into my NFT sites when seedlings get bigger.........new technology has taken a great deal of the work/guessing out of the formula....AdvancedNutrients, Ez-clone...NFT....all good stuff.
It also works just hanging the oasis root/rockwool cube from the neoprene collar into the ez-clone.....
A bit pricey for a aero-cloner....but no fuss, no mess...plug and play....greatest thing for todays active person.
Ez-clone is a great tool, and anything to make things easier works for me!

With all the different ideas for cloners out there, and all the designs for ghetto versions that work just as well if not better, I just know that im gonna end up making about 10 this year lol, I already have ordered a proper one, but I have 2 Designs that I want to make desperately, just so I can, lol . One of them is the ultrasonic fogger one which is in the hydro forum over at "The other place", lol. I think that looks great, if the little idea for making it recirculate the condensation back into the fogger's res works it would be marvellous . I gotta try it anyway.

Not that there's anything wrong with this one ,

I just got an ez clone. I've heard that roots will grow into the neoprene. Anyone experienced this? It also seems that you have to take some big cuttings to make the collars work, though I guess you could cut the height of the collar down a little.
