root rot :(
what's the temp of your rez been at? and are you using organic nutes , chems or what? doesnt look good for that plant sorry to say... not sure if there is a way to combat root rot once it's as far along as your pic there , pretty damn much 100% sure that's what you've got there.... best i can say is watch the nute temps, and if you're using organic nutes, be careful about which products you mix together, because some of them don't get along. I concur with THC, looks like root rot. And a very advanced case of it!! |

Here's an OG FAQ that might provide more info: How do I identify and prevent Root Rot?
Hope that helps! |

Only a couple of things you can do.
You need to have an airstone in both the reservoir AND the bucket itself for best oxygenation. The h2o2 will help and a good flush with PH balanced water. Then a feed at the regular time. Make sure your res temps never go above about 60-65 degrees and ideally they will be around 50-55 deg. (are you using too large a water pump for your needs? They produce heat!) After you have done all this I'd get rid of as much of the slime as you can and pray for new white healthy looking roots to show. You can also consider buying a reservoir cooler if res temps are the issue: https://www.aquadirect.com/store/cust...&cat=77&page=1 If all else fails, you will have to start again and take care of the potential issues that caused this problem. Sorry bro! "Live and learn eh?" |

I'd start with the res temps... Wally World has inexpensive aquarium thermometers you can use to check it. Strive to keep it around 69 degrees F.
Also, how much air are you putting into the roots? Are the plants sharing a container, and/or is the system recirculating? If so, once pythium hits one plant, it'll easily spread to the rest... |

That's what you need to figure out.
It's either reservoir temp, or lack of oxygen to the roots, or poor circulation of the nutes, or all of the above. If the system is passive (no drip) then you definately need to have LOTS of air in the res and the buckets! Even if they are self contained bubblers, it could be any of those things. |
