Ducksfoot x Afghan f2 by Dr. D
Hi folks
The good Dr D gave me a ten pack of Ducksfoot x Afghan f2s at last year's icmag cup and I promised to do a grow report. Well, 10 months later, I finally fulfilled on my promise! Started 10 seeds in paper towels and all sprouted within 36 hours, very healthy and vigourous from day one. I potted them into little square pots of John Innes seed compost. Sadly two didn't make it but the other 8 are all healthy and look good at 14 days old under a 65w CFL. ![]() I am very pleased to discover that there are a number of webbed phenos! I intend to make F3s by selecting just the webbed plants, see if I can lock down that trait. This looks to be the 50/50 pheno as it has the Afghan leaf shape but the leaves are webbed, the lower one is fully webbed, whereas the upper on is webebd on the left side only. ![]() This one looks like it will be a little bit webbed as the leaf on the right is slightly webbed. ![]() Definite Ducksfoot pheno this one, looks more like a strawberry plant than ganja. Hope this one is female, if so it will get cloned and saved as it looks stealthy to me. ![]() Afghan leaning pheno, not webbed. ![]() Very Afghan looking pheno. ![]() Strange one, the leaf on the right is webbed but a strange shape, the one on the left is also webbed, but only at the bottom. ![]() Afghan pheno and a bit smaller than the others. ![]() So fingers crossed I find both a webbed female and a webbed male to make F3s! |

I was gifted some Ducksfoot f2s a couple of years ago and grew them indoors, they vegged great but didn't flower properly. Hopefully that touch of Afghan will make all the difference...

Good luck with the F3's! I hope you nail that webbed trait down, they look alot of fun to grow.

Cheers Pirate. I topped all of them a few days ago and yesterday repotted them into larger pots, I'm going to clone the webbed phenos before they go outdoors so i can work withthem indoors.

Dr D also gave me some of those seeds last yr. I have been wanting to plant some. Seeing your thread has inspired me.
I am greatly impressed by your MARVELOUS collecion of Annuals. Brings back my childhood. I so loved reading them and the few that I did have got left behind in South Africa over 20 years ago. I did however bring my Astrerix collection. I think that I have them all as I have been adding to that as they come out. Please post a photo of your bookshelves. |

Hello Ronley
I'm not at home right now but i will take a pic of my bookshelf, I loved those annuals when I was a kid, and I fully intend to sit my son on my knee and read every one of them to him one day (when I have a son!) imho reading is far more useful to a child's development than playing computer games. |
