afgani #1
ey,
I'm looking for some nice & stable afghan strain, and my eye has fallen on the one seedman has on offer. does anybody have any experience with this strain or knows another vendor who's offering some fair priced, true breeding afghan? |

Ive not tried Seedmans Afghani#1 but im gonna harvest their OriginalHaze tommorow!
![]() Ive been very impressed with the grow, and the small tester flowers i smoked were excellent! Typical spicey Haze taste and a truely wicked sativa buzz! The DurbanSkunk of theirs i grew also was true to the description given when i grew it guerrilla style outside in the UK last year. Seedsman are a very good seedsbank IMO, i was gonna get Afghani from them but got some freebie Nirvana ones in the end.. Id give them a go .. If my Nirvanas dont do well outside this year then i will probably get some for next year. Hope this helps! Zed |

Anyone? C'mon, someone has to have grown out Seedsman Afghani#1. It's been four and a half years for cripes sake.
As an aside, that's a pretty damn sweet plant zedhead has there. He'll probably never read this post, but still.

i believe this thread was a bit larger last time i visited it but got "shrunk" some way
maybe cause none of Seedsman's strain are sold at either of the SeedB's just a guess though but regarding the seedsman Afghani i would also like to know more as most afghanies are capable of surviving my harsh nordic cimate and therefore future breeding candidates the Nirvana version is told to be better than the Sensi version but still not much info on the seedsman version |

heh ok Jawnroot......you got me.......and the knowledge that you seek bro...
It was my post on "that" site..and this is starting to feel like a job......heheh.. Seedsman Afghani#1...in DWC...in 06/07 first rel.... Standard mid sized Sweet Afghani...Not hard to grow, wasn't picky... I could of grown it better but also had Yumbolt and 72%gooey to compare with and this Aff#1was the lowest in effect out of the set.. Ok I gata say my piece on this cause its a lil iffy on this Seed Co IMO....Heres why...Bough the beans In hope to find some real True Afghanis within these as I was told on the down that they had worked with Sam..... The rumor at the time was Seedsman had some of Sams stock and either Sam helped or it was at least "His" quality stock being used....and I fell for it... Grew them out and just didnt see what I expected and then started to dig on info about this..Started at the source as Tom (seedsman rep) did offer me free gift for use of my pics at the time...I requested their HashPlant as I wasn'tblown away with the Affi#1 and I told Tom that in a nice way... He said it was no prob and later...I recived another pk of Affi#1....not the HP...then they pulled both Affi#1 and HP from their Avail stock list?... So after the fact I go back and actually ask Tom about the relation to Seedsman and Sam..He said they had used some of Sams stock but that Sam did not work directly on any of their stock.. Sam himself about Seedsman...He said they prob are using his stock but he had no other information about it...my final word.... Not impressed... I'd go with SensiSeeds Afghani (or Afghan Dream the F4 IBL = Affi#1) or MNS SHIT.......look at the Parent line for SHIT...and you will see a Original Afghani as said by the man himself...Shanti.. Have a good day... FOE20 |

FOE20: Those plants look pretty damn sick to me, not to mention uniform. Check out Toca's pics of the Seedsman Afghani#1, they look a lot like yours:
Is it possible yours were harvested too early? Your pics are def. showing immature buds (could go maybe another 10-15 days), although on really nice plants. Maybe a bit more description regarding what exactly you didn't like about them? Regarding Seedsman as a seller/retailer/bank, etc: Seedsman has made it well known that they deal with a number of difference sources for their seed. They've never claimed all their gear comes from Sam (indeed, it's only his genetics grown out by their guys -- Skunk #1, the O. Haze, and maybe a cross or two). The Afghani and a few others are from old Holland stock (rumored to be early 90's Sensi), while the crosses most likely come from Spain. In all my searches, I haven't heard anything overtly bad about Seedsman as a brand, or about the individual strains. Indeed, it's been all good until I read this Afghani report. Basically, I'm looking for a nice, uniform, stable Afghani. Comparing your pictures to Toca's shot, I'd say if nothing else these plants are uniform. But maybe you could share a bit more about the buzz? What was it exactly that you didn't like? It seems like no matter what Afghani I find, someone has something bad to say about it. Sensi = too sativa/too variable; HGF = hermie tendencies; World of Seeds = total bunk; Nirvana = too sativa/too variable. And the list goes on.

hey Jawnroot....Its not shown finished tho and actually looks like that one was reflowering a lil even...I let it go prob another 2wks on that 1 plant when that happens...
When I grow a strain I grow the pk or half n all that...same old...I keep the best lookin plants and clone n run thru a few times...I tried them at 3 flower times..under 2-3 different levels of nutes...and even in 2 growing methods with DWC and D2W hydro table...might of run it in a soil bed at a friends to...I test the fuk outa um bro no worries there... What was lacking was the over all Power Afghani should have...period... Other than that it tasted close to a Gooey type Afghan but lighter in the effects dept...Had a sweet sorta apricot/melon fruity hashy thing happening on most plants.,..quite consistent in form as you said...They yielded like normal afghans tho... I was put off by being told by a "Seedsman Rep" that Sam "Had" worked on the strains they had avail at that Time..Think I was really after a Skunk at that time to be honest...didnt they have a skunk up to?... Anyway and then the whole pic thing and sending me the same Affi#1's and then Sam sayin different about them.......just seemed like a cop out... great info btw on past grows...I feel ya on allot of those notes...Ive got a 1/2 pk of Affi#1 man.....but either way Happy hunting... Yeah, Seedsman has a solid skunk. Buddy of mine grew it out, which is what turned me onto them in the first place. Very uniform, nice smoke, etc. If you're accustomed to a lot of heavy-hitting hybrids it may not be what you're looking for, but I think it's solid.
Either way, I'd already placed an order for Seedsman Afghani#1 before I posted in this thread for info (honestly didn't think I'd hear from anyone). Uniformity/homogeny are the main traits I'm looking for, and it seems like I'll get that with this strain. Granted, if the stuff smokes like ditch-weed it's gonna get the boot, but if it's semi-decent I may use it as breeding stock.

Hiya guys
![]() I've run through a pack of seedsmans Afghan#1 and found them to be pretty uniform in growth with big colas produced without too much effort. The weed was mainly fuity/hashy tasting with a good high, not the strongest but a nice buzz. The one I've kept ( the pic shown earlier is a couple of clones from her) was a really lime hash flavoured individual with a noticeably stronger high...if I sit down after a joint I'll be asleep in no time! I really like this plant I've got more powerful plants but it's the quality of the high that keeps me going back for more. Oh...and the hash is pretty glorious too, providing you like a sweet lime flavoured knock out blow to the head.
