In particular Casablanca, Marrakesh and Tunis. Has anyone ever been to any of these places?

Just a general idea about the scene and safety...Australian government says "Reconsider your need to travel" on it's travel advisory site...mainly for western parts of Morocco.

I spent some time in Marrakesh, Essouira, ouarzazate, zagora, tangiers, and a few other places in Morocco. This was about 5-6 years back. You definitely have to be on top of your shit most of the time. Tangiers you don't really want to hang around there. Marrakesh is a cool city. I stayed at the hotel CTM right in the middle of town. You can eat breakfast on the balcony overlooking the snake charmers and story tellers. Had a few sketchy situations in Marrakesh but mostly just problems with people following you around trying to sell you something.

I rented a car and once you get outside of the main cities people are a lot nicer. Plenty of amazing scenery in Morocco. Dades valley, Todra Gorge, Atlas mountain, Sahara desert, beaches in Essoiera....

I have been to over 20 countries and Morocco was one of my favorites. Not for everyone and isn't where you bring the wife and kids....but if it is adventure you seek you will find it.

really dangerous if your skin is white. Especially if you are going to look for illegal products like drugs. That's all.

Yeah, that's what i thought...too bad about that. No, I wouldn't be going out of my way for drugs. Just general info.

I don't know. I am white and didn't have any major problems. I was all over the country. Not hard to get hash either. Everyone sells it over there. Even little old ladies with kids on their back have hash for sale.

yeah i have many relatives there.

If you are going in big cities you won't have many problem.


I thought that he wanted to do the path to Ketama valley, where they grow. Because there it's the BEST hash. It's WAY WAY better than the one you find in cities.

But on the ketama path it's dangerous also for local. Once i was driving with a friend when a car reached us and stopped us.

Why? they wanted to sell us 1 kilo. I kept on saying that i didn't need it... And thing where starting to get a bit dangerous... We had to buy it for 300$ and then trow it away for the fear of the police.

Anyhow it was REALLY gooodddddd
