I'll be planting 10 Diamond Heads next weekend. I thought I'd do a grow diary with photos on it since nobody else has. I plan to do the entire grow before posting, so it won't be posted until (checks calender) early July. Which does you no good. Sorry.
I'm also going to do Sag's Magolian Indica in late April, and their Wonderberry in mid-May. I have a schedule to keep, so I have to fit 'em all in when I can. I decided to spend the summer growing out other breeder's genes for a while; variety being the spice of life and all. Looking forward to it. CM |

Well, I had hoped to do a grow diary of Sag's Diamond Head, but circumstances have conspired against me. 7 days after ploinking 10 beans into a wet paper towel and keeping them in the dark at 78 degrees F, I only have 2 sprouts. I am pretty disappointed, but in all honesty, some strains just don't have the best viability ratios. It's just part of the game. Pretty expensive two sprouts. I wish breeders would give 20 beans instead of 10. 10 is just not enough for the money. Regardless, I have a deep respect for Sagarmatha's work.
I have years of experience sprouting seeds so I think I can rule out error on my part. I just got 10/10 from Rez's Wonder Diesel, so that's good news. I'd like to say that more time will lead to more Diamond Head sprouts, but in my experience it is fairly rare to get sudden life out of a bean after 7 days. Especially when the bean itself has cracked properly but no growth takes place. I find this kind of "stalling" frustrating; why does it happen? The 2 DH plants I have may give me a female, but I really wanted to have a few females to choose from. I guess the plan will be to grow out these two and hopefully cross them to explore the F2s. I can't afford another $80 to try 10 more. I just pray that I don't end up with 2 males. 2 females would be sweet, as I can reverse one and have femmed seeds. I may move forward now with either GH's femmed White Rhino or do my own Ruby Slipper femmed for a grow diary. I'd do Rez's WD but it is already well loved and documented. I also have 10 Mangolian Indica seeds... but time's short so I need to stick to femmed seeds now to keep to schedule. Anyway. I tried. |

A close friend of mine grew Diamond Head in Fort Collins, CO for a long time. He describes it as a HUGE YIELDER that was easy to grow and was very very tasty and frosty... I sampled some and it was above average on taste and potency... I say go for it!

i'm finding that the Diamond Head is SHIt (no offense SAG). They say these were freebies because he had gotten them bulk and agreed not to disclose the info. - but I think it's because the strains are unwanted/unstable. Out of 10 MMM I ended up with a major dose of autoflowering hermies. The one plant that was female is garbage. Tag says 50-55 days. Try more like 70-80.
EDIT<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<IT take this back!!!!! Buds swelled, from bottom up. Took clipping of swollen/ripened calyxs and I got HIGH. It's a sativa high, but also slightly body...your eyes want to close. But then a few seconds later your heart will be beating fast. The taste (even from a quick oven dry) is kind of fruity. Really interesting strain. I can see it's Hawaiin ancestors basking in the sun around old lava flows guerilla style. Short, compact, but a "tropical" high. Hmmm. Last edited by tenotoge; 03-24-2009 at 01:30 AM.. Reason: ripe |

Cured down this bud mellowed out to a lemony perfume/ incense smoke with a GREAT buzz. Strong, clear and paranoia free, yet your mind is perceptibly accelerated. I'm actually looking forward to sprouting the beans I made off of this girl.
