Day 70 and the three more indica are all down in stages and drying on racks.

A week of low temps seems to have finished some plants faster but others have slowed right down including the sativa three leaning Stinkies which have reached peak ( for me ) starting today and looking to be done by day 80.

The first three all differed in detail of bud form and internode and off the plant they smell like....

Generic fruit
Stronger fruit with lemon balm
Fruit with dead badger (skunk)

First smokes straight off the racks show a lot of promise without any cure and its a good smoke as is.
The final three all have some degree of lemoniness.

Have three of the skunky one at ten days flower trained to a more tidy form , learning from the first run.

Day 77 and two of the three more sativa in form are done in stages leaveing the last one running late in a very cold room.

One had very loose running buds , low yield but well flavoured though not a keeper.
Second was high yield and a lot less leafy , strong lemon aftertaste and a good clean rush in first smoke test and gets a second run.

The last one is to me the most interesting haveing a good productive form and the highest yield coupled with the strongest acid lemon smell of all six , probably needs another week with dark cycle temps in freefall.

Some of the first harvested is ready to cure if it makes it to a jar.
True colour in a rare bit of sunlight.

Cuts veg quite fast but these two look a bit sick , just been sprayed off with detergent to remove mites and they soon perked up.

Despite some abuse none have shown any signs of hermies and low temps have not caused the mould i feared.
No easy life in my room and they stood it well.

Have seven Fat Russians just into flower to take up the space.

The third pheno is the lemon stinky pheno by the sound of it and thay will take a little longer with low temps.I just moved my Grow room's to a new location and its in a loft with no heating but fully insulated and last week and the week before the temps went down to 4c on a few nights and its made my 1 mexican michoacan's and a biddy early to strech like made which has made the buds alot looser/airy than usual cos normally there pretty tight and dense when the night temps are kept 15c +.

I hope you don't get 1 or 2 of the longer flowering hazy tasting pheno of Fat russians as thay can go 13 weeks but the more indica dominant plants have a fruity tang to them and should finish in 9-10 week's most will finish in 10-11 tho and thay all yield very well.

Good luck with the fat russians

Funny how the cold affected plants in different ways.
In a mixed room the more indica seemed to speed up after the first period of 4 deg and finish within days whilst the more sativa of several crosses have slowed down , taken purple colouration and continue to pile on the trichs.

I think the last finishing plant is the one we are looking for and the cold is not harming it so far.

Found by insulating the pots and watering with warm water the plants seem less effected by low temps , and tolerate very low air temps without triggering leaffall or hermies.

The Fat Russians are clones of the one i ran last year which was a stunner in every way , 80 day fruity knockout with very high yield and visual appeal growing or dried.
Friends have all had excellent results with the same clone in an ebb and flow hydro and assorted soil regimes and continue to run it , replaceing some high end genetics in two rooms.

Look forward to running at least one packet when seed is available but this is a keeper for now and will take some beating.

This is the keeper and the purpose of the whole exercise , top half taken at day 80 running a little slow due to cold , probably the cause of a flush of new growth bursting out over the nearly finished bud underneath.

Pictures from day 78.

These lower buds are well triched despite a heavy canopy and low light levels throughout the grow.

A bit leafy and scruffy in habit its been an untidy plant since veg , easier since the fan leaves all fell off one near frost dark cycle.
However it has the strongest true lemon smell to date that does not fade quickly like others which more than makes up for this.
Also detect a whiff of acetone or something very similar to it.

The odour is as strong on leaves and stems as on buds and is very acid.
Really made my eyes water trimming this out and some force dried bits and bobs are stunning to smoke already.

Add in a low stretch and very easy four day cloneing and we have a winner and a worthy replacement for a long lost blockhead pheno that was almost as lemon.

Would love to run five of the six distinctly different plants again but have to clear the decks for some cracking stuff comeing up this year includeing the fat haze and some tests , had to choose and will keep this and the skunky one which would fit many peoples description of RKS.

One average plant , three very good and two stunners seems good value to me and few in the room stood 4 deg temps as well as these did with zero hermies.

Yield is going to be relatively high for all but one as well and these had no feed apart from the chempak in the JI compost and easily increased if into that sort of thing.

Have two of each at 14 days flower and they are looking good with a little feed and some training , seeing what different pot size and some fan leave removal throws into the mix.

Pruning for multiple colas works pretty well with the fat russian in a 10L-15L pots you'll get some really fat nuggets and it's good to see the temp staying above 10c at night now spring is on its way.
