I can assure you,if it sucked,or somehow lacked,I wouldn't f*cking be here,k? Shitty service is everywhere,so don't take it personally,k? (The Hard Rock Cafe,for instance,sucks in Istanbul,Vegas,Orlando,AND Amsterdam-and probably everywhere,lol!) ....As to A'Damm's weed,well,I bring My Own these days,I agree,anything decent in the coffeeshops is The Exception,not The Rule. if you want a coffee and some herb this is the only place where you can sit down in a public place, roll one up and smoke it with no police interference. yes there are many med clubs in california, but you still have to hide out to smoke. when you can sit outside your starbucks and smoke, talk to a stranger and share a j you will know that amsterdam and the netherlands is the only place for the civilised smoker. and i also lived in california for over 20 years and yes the herb is great, i miss it. it was a trade off i was willing to make.

I really am fascinated by those that consider herb to be legal in the U.S., I have never been to Cali, but have some friends from there, just like any area in the U.S., some of the things that go on there do not go on elsewhere....do you guys inbreed [people]??? No, didn't think it was very common....well it is in other areas...point is....just 'cause you can grow your medicine in Cali, doesn't mean the East Coasters aren't going to jail for single plants containing physical or psychological relief. In A'dam you can get that herbal relief, but if your are local you may have some problems getting the basic service a local should more than deserve. Everyone has a complaint but really... we should be happiest where our head lays. P.S. - The people of the area I currently inhabit don't even know what the word service means...tips help...barely |

I also forgot to mention their are three "coffeeshops" in oakland (a.k.a. oaksterdamn) where you can bring your own herb and smoke it at their shop, while you drink coffee. ALSO their are now....12 states with medical marijuana. Not just california (we are just the mecca ) Each with its own program to ficilitate patients (i.e. dispensaries, co-op's, caregivers, etc...) peace and love in a rub-a-dub.... 10ft |

It is a big world, and the You-Ess-Ay is not the Center of it. Never was, never will be. CERTAINLY, not at this juncture of history, as the lustre of the convenience stores, strip Malls, Las Vegas, too many single-passenger Sports Utility Vehicles (SUV's) etc, all fall away, as a facade crumbling due to years of poor upkeep..... (Where do I get 'em)... The Empire is falling...... Nero ( Bush ) plays his viola...... What used to be relegated to the realm of Science Fiction has become a reality. Mirages materialized. Only the open spaces ( of which I live in ) and three or four Cities - seem worthy of any mention, not the ticky-tacky suburban, 7-11, ersatz - credit-financed, "look what I have...!" life that so many Amerikans have garnered for theirselves. Ignoring the "Old-world" ways ( of which my family is from ) the real-soulful family-warm-connections that pass as patriotism these days, we have lost the communal core that makes us more human. Sounds heavy, I know, but self-serving individuals, in a society which rewards this anti-social behaviour as a "Good Businessman-Father-Provider, lose out on the core meaning of what it means to be a part of something bigger. Thus "ME FIRST" behaviour becomes the norm, and then deepens with desensitization, over time.... This is now. Not only "One's" family is important. We are ALL important. As cosmic as it sounds, the world is getting smaller. We are truly all neighbors, now. The Island Vessel, World, Apartment complex, TERRA, GAEA that we all live in/on, is being shat upon....! And yes, the overused word RESPECT does come into play. not in a prideful way, nationalistic or otherwise, but an EMPATHETIC recognition of the fact that we are ALL CONNECTED. Especially us stoners, as we are more sensitive (for better or worse) to these nuances of life that go beyond the everyday normal existence. We share a fight against repression, and care about others essentially. Ganja does that..... Peace to all in the new year.... Canna-Commerce or no..... Without Europe, America would not BE. Most Northern ethnicities would not exist.... As for the coffeeshops - we do not get to sample what the "People" are doinjg there, usually..... It is true... But, with all due respect, come to Nor CA for a trip, and trip out. It may be a simple question of the incredible market of (organic, and other supplement) nutrients available here... We are waiting for you, all you wonderful, magnanamous hosts. Call your friends over the reeking polluted pond. Utilize the superior Euro, you bastards, lol (for now). Thanx and praises go to Geo W. and the Federal Reserve for making our bed stink. Smells good to all other nationals... Oh well.... Come and get it....~@! Such steady people, you Northerners... I got used to it after 3 weeks, and so many, many trips since 1986, that I started reverting to my former (more Midwest USA) self on this last one, although it took a few days, lol... I get nostalgic for the dependability of Dutch culture, even if it is a bit regimented.... Back in the chaos and aggression of Monster-Truck CA society.... My Dutch friends over the years, so very well raised, and trustworthy.... Precisely like my Eastern European Grandparents wanted me to be ( "fresh off the boat," all sides ).. Time for payback. Come visit your friends made on their travels, see if you can get access to medical clubs, with them... We can help..... I recommend San Francisco, as Amerika at its' diverse, dynamic, and tolerant best.... Just keep the secrets for us, please, it's not really legal yet... lol Hey LOGIC, I am so sorry to not have hooked up with you this trip. It would have been great. I was a bit disarmed by not having my own product, due to the delivery agency having a party with it, and only being able to share what AMS had to offer.. This smoke I enjoyed, but I felt like more of a spectator without my goods.... Better packing job next time...... Maybe April. Lastly, thanx for reading...... AMS is a very safe City.... Mostly bluster from drunk tourists, at most - the British hooligan groups seem to present the most hostile vibe in AMS, these days... Or desperate people (not very strong, physically) looking for a drunk tourist who drops their wallet.... Pickpockets (never happened to me, in 15+ trips).... Nothing violent.... It is a very orderly society, sometimes to a fault, lol. Things DO happen, but rarely, and usually very late at night in neighborhoods one should not be in.. No firearms around, for the most part, and that alone makes it superior in safety to any US City. Hands down. Potential travellers to AMS, those who have never been: Ignore the comments above. You will feel the comfort of "no worries" as soon as you get out of the Immediate City centre (Damrak, Rokin, De Wallen RLD, etc.) OK, I said my piece.... Peace..... |

What are you doing inside a HARD ROCK CAFE anyways, besides using the bathroom....? Go ahead, laugh at me for being elitist, but I can proudly say that I have never even looked in the window of that establishment - anywhere in the world..... There has got to be better places to go, or else it is time to get on a train, and go somewhere more interesting. Hey - * 10 feet * - You crazy ....! You da Man - Stirrer up of controversy, like yours truly..... LMFAO.... good on 'ya ...... I'd love to hang witcha' in AMS....! It would be hilarious.....
