Seems to be typical in Amsterdam, Poor service, poor weed, poor attitude towards there customers in general.
I'm not saying all but most are like tht now.!!
My last trip i got stuck in Amsterdam for an extra 3 days after flight was cancelled, i went into Freeworld coffee shop to use internet to contact my missis to let her no, i was told that i couldnt "pay" to use there internet facilaties unless i purchesed some sh*t weed of there menu! wot a joke!
I mean i would of purchased a drink maybe two plus pile the euro's into his internet facilaties! But his attitude sucked, no wonder his shop was empty!
The new greenhouse and the dampkring that used to be the pinkfloyed were an exception, me and my bro chilled in these places on only a few drinks for hours and didn't get any bad attitude or stares because we didn't purchase weed!!
(what ever people say about arjan, i cant fault him on hospitality).

Most of the weed that is produced by me and friends would piss all over 90% of weed sold in Amsterdam! and i bet its the same with most people that grow on Icmag.

Dont get me wrong i love the city, but it just doesn't seem the same anymore!
PITY!!!
Maybe we should get a thread going were people who have visited coffee shops can comment on customer service, weed quality, price. e.t.c
would be a handy guide for Ic'ers!!

The reason I posted this is because it was so out of line and not the treatment I am used to receiving. I spend a fair amount of time in CS's as I have lived here well over a year now. This was the exception and needed to be pointed out. The Bushdoctor was owned by Dutch people and was sold a few years ago. Since then it seems they really are only a tourist shop living on the old rep of the famous jelly iceolator. I have no need to buy any weed in coffeeshops and rarely do. I know I am expected to purchase something for the privilage of taking space.

Ill never understand amsterdam. Youd think after 30 years of being "tolerated" they would have got their f**king act together. But every visit to the DAM im always left wondering why I had made the visit. Dutch herb does not compare to the herb in america, and their excuse is they just dont bring good stuff out for tourists. Well the next time I see a european come into my shop, Ill show him how to treat your customers. WITH RESPECT AND DIGNITY, regardless of where they are from. Because remember, were americans, were rude and obnoxious, but well also kick your f**king teeth in if you disrespect us.

LMFAO, Ten Feet....! Yes....! You always come through with the witty responses..>!

IMHO, I love them DEARLY, but with all due respect (and I truly mean that) The Dutch can come off a bit chilly sometimes. We also mistake calmness for a lack of passion, or caring, erroneously. But the aforementioned coolness sometimes manifests in slow, or worse service. There are almost never gratuities involved, so I try to give everytime, it does get noticed, and I do not mean 35c..... Nor do I mean 5 euros either, just a token of thanks.... Enough to make it worthwhile, 2 or 3E.

Sometimes, as in the case of PinkFloyd/Dampkring, the staff is amazingly accommodating. Even under pressure by a crowd. This - I thought was the true test of a good shop. Besides the obvious criteria.... The Rifman stock didn't hurt... lol

The NOON dude tried to deny me a cuppa Chamomile, with no ganja order. I showed him my sack of Blueberry Haze purchased the day before, and he prepared the tea. No charge. I understand, having been a bartender in a big City for a few years.

One fact sometimes forgotten by hedonist travellers (as I am as well, occasionally) is that these folks are on the :Front Lines: and dealing with the public, the inebriated masses. It is work, not always a party for the staff. One hears and sees a bit too much....

Saying that, I suppose it would be superior to working in an office...

Certain stars of the AMS C'shop scene shine year in and year out. Too many to mention, we all know who they are.

Maybe we should come up with a thread for the BEST AND WORSE C'SHOP EMPLOYEES... I bet the owners would pay attention.... Money's Money. The Hollanders know this well. That is why they have a (relatively) very effective and prosperous country.

In my humble opinion (after about twenty trips from UK to the dam under my belt)....

Amsterdam is a rip off. The weed is never as good as your own, i've witnessed more thefts and assaults there than anywhere else, there are junkies and acid freaks everywhere and the accommodation is always tiny and expensive. The coffeeshops aren't relaxing or very comfortable and they always have people smoking cigarettes, which ruins the flavour of weed. And they seem to employ lots of ex-cons to keep the atmosphere constantly a bit hostile.

I know Bushdoctor's and wouldn't consider it anything but a dive that serves mediocre weed with a grunt and a grab of the money.

It's always better to stay home and put your money towards some good local weed and a nice meal rather than a holiday that you know will ultimately be a disappointment. It's a novelty, but that's all.

Saying that, outside Amsterdam it's much nicer, and outside the whole smoking scene the Dutch are always very sound people.

#1- Never start a sentence with the word because...didn't your English teacher ever tell you that.

#2- Were and we're are two very different words. In one case you were an American, but then they exiled you for growin' too much pot; the second case is we're Americans, because we know how to write well.

#3- Americans is actually capitalized, it adds to the chizang...of how cool they are.

#4- Again, either we were rude and obnoxious, or we are rude and obnoxious. I believe you meant the second version, although I would think one would have already learned to be the first [as in were- past f'in tense].

#5- It is not practical for foreign relations to threaten another nation or culture, if you could please not do so in the future it may earn America some [what's that word-oh yeah!] R-E-S-P-E-C-T. BTW something they might need it in the future.....just in case the money runs out....?what run out, impossible!?

-and last, but certainly not the very least, it is actually the Eastern and Southern blocks of Europe that may come to your house and kick your teeth in. Just a note but most mafias are not really U.S. affiliated, they are in the greatest quantities affiliated with Russia and it's former conglomerates/neighbors, Italy, S. America, and Asia (it seems the Irish have given up, or gone into hiding). So before you start slinging your nukes over the ocean; please do not forget what lies in the midst of ones own' country.

Anyways, A-dam is o.k., but I'd prefer any forest, field, river, lake, or hilltop Europe has to offer. I heard you could grow herb on the hilltops...smoke it right there....don't even have to go to a c'shop. I guess ya'll get my drift, if you want to smoke good herb...grow it. If you want to have a nice cup of "joe" in A'dam, brew it...and if you want it for the road....best use a thermos.

The Accumbens

P.S.
....walls; formerly created to keep other men locked out, in reality, are keeping us locked in.

P.P.S. -Why am I responding to such a silly quote? I have no clue...must be the stuff in my stuff.
