Howdy folks, sure am glad you all are enjoying the tour of Wally's World. Now that intermission is over we can continue our adventure with a look at some of the scenic beauty that is Oz. One of the most amazing things to me was the true frontier feeling... there is simply so much space, and relatively few people. The northern Aussie landscape I visited ranges from tropical coastline and lush mountains to a rather harsh and dry outback. Let's get the tour bus rolling down the highway...



The road system in northern Australia is good, but in the remote areas the paved section is but a single lane with hard dirt shoulders. When the big rigs come barrelin' at ya you had better get over!



Our journey today begins with a flight over the Cairns coastline, a favorite destination for those travelers visiting the Great Barrier Reef.



As we move inland, some of the roads may be flooded, so we'll have to send someone out to test the depth to make sure we can cross!



All out for a swim as we arrive in a peaceful river area:



Let's get dried off and back on the bus... there's lots to see! As we continue our journey we pass through the lush landscape perfect for cattle ranching:



Grab your cameras, as we are approaching the falls:





Heading further into the wilderness, the countryside changes from a lush tropical paradise to a more stark and harsh environment. As we pull into Undara, we'll hop out and take a short hike to the lava tubes, formed hundreds of thousands of years ago when the area was a volcanic region:







Simply Spectacular! Well let's head on back to the base camp as all this touring has made me hungry! Actually old Wally has promised to show us how to make some outback hash... so stay tuned for our next Adventure in Wally World. Oh... check out the wind farm out the right window...

Those pictures make me want to jump on a flight tonight and head over that way. That picture of the field with all that lovely green grass and water fall is just awesome. I could live out there and just be at peace with everything. These are some of the best pictures I've seen in a very long time. Thanks again for sharing them with us. Now, I've got to figure out a way to bum a room from Wally. lolol Thanks again and keep them coming.

Don't know about that, lolol. If I build you a new add on. I might not leave. Now, if you hook me up with one of those fine Aussy Women. I'm NEVER leaving AUS. They are going to have to deport me. lolol.

Very nice pictures Wally. Love the area your in. Don't know if I would be swimming in that water. lolol Guess you only got the small Freshies in those waters and not the salties. Take care and very nice grow and aniamls.
