Thai-tanic

A F1 hybrid. Very compact Sativa variety, classic chocolate Thai smell and taste. The Skunk father dominates only in fast maturation, high yields and general vigour. A heavy crystal producer that is extremely potent with a trippy cerebral high. Don't panic, this one will oly take you up and up and up! Mostly Sativa. This mostly sativa taste like the typical Thai with Skunk undertones. Sativa looking and very resinous. The high is strong and clear. Smell/taste: Typical Thai, with Skunk undertones High/strength: Extremely strong, with a surprising clear Appearance: Sativa looking, very resinous. Flowering time 9 to 12 weeks. Yield High.

also check out super thai from high quality ~

how does the herb look? Is it sativa foxtails, braided buds, or the type that look more like old commercial red hair bc skunk? I have seen a few times where the skunk father seems to give off the red haired look. Personal thing, I just don't like the look. I think a good example is the skunk/haze crosses in the Cannabible. I bet the f2 would have great variation.

i had three phenos, i kept one. it was the middle of the other two, one being more skunkish, although i dont call that skunk. the skunk father is nothing like the primo stinky skunk from 1980 i know. anyway the middle pheno is less sativy than the later finishing one, but more resiny and pretty much the same flavor....

i grew out thai-tanic and I loved it. It was easy to grow, but it did hermie near the end, but defnetly did not effect potency. I truly felt like I was tripping the first time I smoked it. It makes your environment shine and gives you this amazing "ultimate" feeling that I guess people would put under the category of "euphoric". After smoking it regularly now, I have gotten more used to it, but it still is an awesome smoke.

did you not experience variations in the breed? i had three phenos, two were more closely related to each other while the third was quite different.

Yes most definetly, some were more indica like and others more sativa. I pulled the indicas becuase I try to get as clase as I can to more sativa effects.

Gonna post this in the strain guide on OG.. Cant log in there at the moment tho! LOL.

I saw this thread so i may as well share it with you guys here on IC first....

I lost most of my grow data when my old PC died but here my Strain Guide grow report for Thaitanic from The Flying Dutchmen.

I germinated 5 seeds by giving them a 24hr soak then planting into a sowing compost mix. All sprouted in a fewe days and looked healthy..
At the 3-4 week mark they looked skunky phenos, wider leaves, short node space. I started feedind around week 3-4 using Bio-bizz Grow & Algamic (seaweed).

I put them into 12/12hr around 4-5 weeks. They soon started stretching out and showing sex around 10days.. 3 fem's and 2 males. Males were removed.
I staked and tied down the lanky branches on the girls but didnt top them.
Over the first 6 weeks they flowered but didnt gain much bud size but the plants gained in size overall and were very thirsty for Nitrogen with yellow leaves starting at the bottom of the plants.. Of the three phenotypes, pheno's 1 & 3 were particually N thirsty during flowering. I used Bio-bloom, algamic, Topmax as well aas Bio-grow during bloom with near;y every watering except for the last week or so...
And LiquidGoldFulvic (DryFlowerProducts) at 1ml/Litre water 4 times over 11 weeks.. Not strictly organic, made from pine trees.

All the plants were choppped within 9 days of each other, around 11 weeks 12/12.. Pheno 2 was first then pheno 1 and then pheno 3. I should have all of them a bit longer really but i had other plants that desperately needed the space..! :O

1st pheno was sativa looking with quite bulky big airy buds, smells fruity & woody with slight aniseed. Not really spicey. Quite a strong up buzz tho not over-powering. Covered in orange/red hairs

2nd pheno also was quite sativa looking but quite bulky, skunky buds, smells very fruity, a bit bubblegum like. Skunky up type high, strong fruity taste.

3rd phenotype is similar to the first but took longer to mature in bloom. Hairs are more yellow/golden on this one. Not as fruity smelling but more aniseed with a touch of chocolate.. This one has a more up, racey buzz, slightly anxious and speedy but not a heavy paranioa type, generally a happy feel..
The yield is a bit lower on this pheno but i like it the most..
It could have done with another 2 weeks i recon.. I didnt check the trichs until after harvest and they were virtually all clear..! I went by the colour of the pistles. Oh well, i have the mother plant so next time i will let her go for 13 weeks or more..

Large looking yields from all phenos, largest buds i have had in my grow cabinet. I didnt weigh the complete harvests but the buds were much heavier than i thought, EDIT: the main colas on phenos 1&2 being around the 20g mark, pheno3 15g once cured.. Im not sure but all phenos may have hermied a bit.. Found a few seeds here and there and on phenos 1 and 3 found a male flower or two! I didnt find this effected the sensi quality too much tho. From a good few ounces ive only found about 8 seeds.

The 3rd pheno, my favourite to keep, is more like Thai.. The smell of the 2nd pheno is gorgeous and the buzz nice, quite skunky so im keeping her for now too.

Overall the a nice strain to try, it is an up active type buzz and quite strong too, tho not as strong as i was expecting.. Maybe by leaving the buds in bloom longer the strength will increase more?

I used Bio-Bizz all-mix soil that had been used one already and not really composted after.. Was still ok with added liquid ferts.

Lighting at the time was two 150w HPS and 125w Envirolite* (Blue 6100K) inbetween the 2 HPS bulbs. Ive now replace the blue Envirolite for a red 2700K .

*Giant sized compact fluorescent lamp.

I will grow clones from this strain again at some point as it is a good smoke, not as powerful a Haze type sativa but an enjoyable experience.. Im trying to build up a good selection of mother plants and Thaitanic is a a nice addition to the collection.

Check out my gallery on OG under zedhe@d3 for pics..

Peace.
