I didn't grow it SS, a friend used to run it and I never tried it. He grew those Sag NL#9 from clones in a custom built NFT under 600w bulbs.

He ran that commercially for a long time, so it would be my assumption that he was pleased with it. It's Northern Lights after all, still one of the best strains ever bred, potency-wise and yield-wise.

Which makes me think of an interview with Dr. Paul Hornby in Cannabis Culture, where he claims to have tested a Northern Lights #1 at 36.8% THC.

What is the relationship between NL#9 and the NL#1,2 and 5 varietys that have garnished their respective followings? Do we know the pedigree of this NL#9 and its ultimate origins?

As far as I know, the numbers simply indicate the number of a particular plant in a controlled group of seedlings, a superior pheno produced from F2:ing the original Northern Lights.

You're at Sagarmatha's help desk, so why not direct the question directly to Tony? He if anyone should know.
