Has anyone ever run a horizontal bulb vertically? vertical HIDs are harder to find but i see a lot of vertical grows so i was wondering if there is any danger or if its just better for bulb life/performance.

every bulb ive ever used/use has been hung vert. Ive used eYe hort, Eiko, Phillips, and no name 400 and 600w bulbs with no issues what so ever. Only danger is burning yourself on the bulb when working around the plants.

Thanks man just the reassurance i needed no worries about burns though, got a cool tube with a fat extractor fan. thanks for the heads up.
