Looking for someone to make me labels/packaging.
After finally stablizing Blue streak, I think its time for me to get some of my own packaging. Ive tried working with a few people, but all I see is draggin of feet. If anyone knows of someone or can recommend me to someone.....by all means, please do. I do have the artwork. Gypsy seems to be one of the only dependable seedbanks that Ive dealt with besides seedsman, and Im seriously considering going exclusive to one or the other. I have too hard of a time with payment expectations. This way I can keep track of MY seeds. Ive got several seedruns going as I speak, and Gypsy will have seeds soon. Any thoughts?

id definitely appreciate if you kept supplies in at the bay. There are never enough (if any) AF gentics available there.
can't help as far as designing labels. Have you looked at old private breeder threads to see if someone consistently puts out good designs? look forward to the new releases! |

MD, I think that so many seed outlets take liberties with small breeders because they know that you're not exactly going to reveal your identity by taking them to court. The way that they behave is completely unacceptable and I don't blame you for thinking about going with just one seedbank.
However, if both Seedsman and Gypsy have served you well, why choose one over the other? I'd just stop supplying the seedbanks that have let you down and keep a good business relationship with the banks that have done well by you. Another possible option is that you could contract Gypsy or Seedsman to supply all of the other seedbanks that want your seeds. That way your risk will be minimized but you won't be limiting your potential customer base. Just an idea. Last edited by gunnaknow; 11-21-2007 at 03:11 AM.. |

Yes, well thats what I meant. I like both Gypsy, and Tom at Seedsman. They are great seedbanks, that pride themselves in carrying legitimate seeds. So for sure those two.

MD didn't ask us to vote Masterlow37. Although it did appear as though he wanted to know whether he should choose between Gypsy and Seedsman, until he clarified.
MD, it depends on what type of packaging you had in mind as to what your next step should be. For a small producer like yourself, it probably isn't worth the expense of getting a vacuum packer. I presume that your seeds sell out reasonably fast because there is demand and you only run a small op. So there wouldn't be any need to invest in packaging that extends the life of the seeds. What you really want in my opinion is something that is easily replocatable by yourself, that is cheap, requires little investment and allows you to remain anonymous. Something that your helpers can replocate on their own aswel if you have to lie low. You could go to the stationary store and get some high quality, glossy card for your printer for example and make your own designs on the computer, to fit a template. Then you just need to print the designed template onto the card, cut it out, fold the card into envelopes and glue. Scroll down in the link to "Making Your Own Seed Envelopes", for simple templates. Another option might be to source some ready made, plain seed envelopes and then print your design onto the packets. https://tomclothier.hort.net/page45.html Last edited by gunnaknow; 11-21-2007 at 12:56 PM.. |

Same type of packaging as used by Female Seeds...using same folks that package Female Seeds, would need your artwork and can be sorted simply and easily....let me know.

Very cool dutchgrown
I have a couple people with ideas, I might just have to go with you. BTW I'm going to have a lot of stock for you soon. Its going to take a few weeks still, but Im doing a huge run of Blue Streak, and Master Low. PowerStout after that, that will be improved.
