Just wanted to write a quick note saying thanks! I harvested a small-ish plant today, and I have a few more coming down soon (small being 3 or 4 8ths dry (est.)). The upper-half of one girl is seeded, so I'm going to let those ripen until they're ready. My best girl was supposed to come down tomorrow at day 60, but I think she'll go another 5 days or a week. The smell is awesome, just like ripe grapefruits, and I had 1/5th of the calyxs turn dark purple.

This is really versitile plant! The smallish one was at the edge of the lights, and the fatties were right under it. I've been looking at micro-grows for fun, and I think this strain could perform well while staying short. Or, given adaquate light, you can get some really nice, fat buds.

Chunky, sweet smelling Cola with DVD and ruler for size



Laid whole plant on table, clipped at stem, and pulled sunleaves. This was the exact growth pattern in life. Classic indoor Christmas Tree shape. Not too much vegitation, allowing all side nuggets to reach a good size.

This plant was my nicest, and she finished at 2.5 ft. I estimate around an ounce + dried, but I have a hard time guessing weight while wet. I was pleased with the yield compared to other plants next to her. The smell is totally sweet grapefruit. In growth, it smelled more like sharp grapefruit with Earthy undertones, but at day 60 the sweetness is there too. Buds aren't rock-hard, or fluffy. It's composed of medium sized fox-tails which don't easily seperate from one another. Like, you could pry the bud apart if you wanted to, but if left to dry it should chunk up really nicely and have the density it needs to cure and store well. I didn't see any purple calyxes on this plant as I did with the small one. The buds are only lightly frosted, but the button on my camera was well sticky after taking those pictures *lol* I'm going to let this one dry and sit in a jar for at least a few weeks before I give a smoke report. There's really no comparing dry bud to jar-cured. I'd highly recomend this strain for indoor cultivation

I give credit where credit's due You have no idea how stoked I am to have that seeded plant still going. I didn't see any bananas, so I think it must have been pollinated by one of the Diesl IBLs or D39s in the room, which would be fantastic. Grapefruit is one of my favorite smells/flavors, so this plant was really appealing to me. Plus, I don't see anymore on Seedbay, so these may be a hard to find item soon lol. Cheers

Nice report! Purple huh that must been a trip to see happen. Any picks? How was the smoke and effect of yours in general?

I kept 2 phonos one that is was done in a little over 50 days with a smaller but still respectable 1.5oz from seed. The other one that i like a lot more goes to 60-65 and yielded about 2oz+ from seed. That one smells of sweet grapefruit with big dense foxtail buds. Not the foxtails that stack away from the bud but the bud just grows like that so when it is dry you can peal a stack away.

The smoke was a good heady stone. I had one friend say it felt like her head was going to pop at the top. Like her brain was going to pop out of the top of her skull. It was a good thing she said.

I made some F2s from both gals and some of that pollen straied and pollenated the rest of my cab. So i ended up with some ApollosMist F2 (tangarine flavored pheno) X pineapple grapefruit, Sour Bubble x, and some other indica dom crosses that i made produced some beens from the pineapple grapefruit pollen.

Those sound like fantastic crosses Raygun . Have you grown out any of those yet? I didn't get any pics of the purpling effect, it wasn't really dramatic, pretty subtle. You'd have to be trimming it to notice. If you have a lot of seeds you should put some up on Seedbay, I'd probably try one pack, and I know at least one other user on here's looking for GF flavored stuff.

2+ ozs from seed is really good! What method did you use to get that kind of yield? I basically do a sea-of-green from seed, so mine only yield around 1oz, but I pack in a lot of plants. Next time I'm going to SCROG fewer plants, I think.

I'm drying the buds as we speak, so I haven't even tried any of this one yet I'll let you guys know. The smell is what I'm stoked about, I really hope the flavor carries through in the smoke.

AriesXX I have not yet grown the crosses out. I just harvested it like 2 months ago. I did not get to many seeds from the from the unexpected crosses so probably will not be sending to seedbay.
However i do have some sourbubble x Petrol back cross to sourbubble that I have been wanting to get sent. Perhaps i can get some of the Apollos Mist x PC99G (tangerine/pinapple/grapefruit talk about citrus explosion) packs sent as well. Don't hold your breath though i have been too chicken to send so far.

I grow in coco. Vegged for about 3-4 weeks took clones 1 week before flowering then under my 400w HPS in my cab. I use Floranova/licious/plus with Kool Bloom supliment and molassas. LST and TLC is the only other thing i do.The current clone i have going of the smelly one did not give me as large of buds but they are more dense. I harvest in about a week perhaps i can get some picts for ya.

You should love the flavor profile. I found that the smelly pheno also tasted fruity while the quick pheno was not fruity but not lacking in flavor either.

Wow, that pheno looks exactly like a c99xG-fruit (Wallyduck) mother I got rid off about 4 months back!!! That plant was stellar in almost every way. It had a huge yield, awesome fruity/tropical/slight skunk aroma and stretched about 3-4x in flower, eliminating the need for veg. I ran this plant HARD for well over a year.

Only problems it had were a weak stem structure (but ya just need stakes) and a ghost pollination issue similar to what you are describing. Around week 7 it would start to slow growth and seemed pollinated somehow. The pistils all turned brown and the calyxes swelled. Sure enough, a week or two later I would start to notice some calyxes split a little like there was a seed. This happened with variable consequence to the final product but she never produced any bananas or fertilized anything else. never actually produced any vialble seeds either, just these immature thin white shells inside of the calyxes without anything even in them. Since I was growing other strains under the same conditions that didn't have the same issues I figured the plant had some weird genetic thing and was too finicky to mess with anymore. Sadly I had to let her go

I wish I still had her these days though, if nothing else, at least for the yield. It was the best yield in my garden and even with the worst quasi-fertilization it still sat in the same place in the weed hierarchy as Makers Mark sits in the bourbon hierarchy quality wise.

Dr. G you are in for some excellent excellent excellent herb and any one with these beans should consider themselves lucky. Good luck with your grow. Are you documenting it?

P.S. If this post sounds too much like spam I apologize. I just get hyped when I see an awesome pheno that I know well being enjoyed by another I will probably never know. thats why I like this site though, ya know?


P.P.S. Dr. G I could take mine about 60-65 but usually let them go to 75. Mine had the perfect ratios of triche colors at that point, about 5-10% amber.
