ThaiTanic 12/12 seed grow

I have a ThaiTanic grow finishing up here soon. Today is about day 64 of flower. I don't recall the exact days these particular four plants showed sex, but all my plants were showing sex no later than Aug 29th.

I took them out today for inspection, watering, and pictures. So here's what they look like right now. Trichomes are all still crystal clear. It looks like maybe, maybe they are slowing down making new pistils.

I really screwed up with nutes on these plants, essentially, underfeeding them. I'll describe them more with the pics below.

In retrospect, I would NOT do ThaiTanic as a 12/12 grow unless I had to. I think I could have vegged these 2 weeks and still been able to keep them under 110cm. These turned out to be shorter than I really wanted.

And I am here to tell you that these plants are bud makers....esp #3 and #4 EVERY node that could have a bud forming did form one...all the way to the bottom of the plant where light was very poor IMO. I can see now why that guy in the HT article liked ThaiTanic for his commercial grow in Brazil. His plants were going 11feet plus tall and bushy and yielding 20 oz plus in his big greenhouse grow.

So if you guys want a strain that will produce well and be a good smoker(So I'm told, I haven't tried it yet), ThaiTanic might be a good choice. I'd love to see what one of these would look like under 600W and grown to be about 4 feet tall. SHEEEEEEEEIIIIT I bet they would be great!

#1 is the shorty, about 24" and has the weird bent looking cola. Massive head bud though and very dense. Like all of them, once you mess around with them they get stinky. This one smells a bit on the skunky side, as do 2 and 3. 4 smells very "floral" and not much skunk. Whatever that means.

#2 is probably the poorest of the four but it's still a nice plant, just nothing special. May end up as the lowest yielder, dunno. I forgot a closeup of main cola

#3 is a very nice plant. Nice main cola. Buds all the way to the bottom node...and those bottom buds are not airy, wimpy buds. Amazing since I know there wasn't much light from that 400 getting down there. Much like #4 below but skunky smelling, not floral smelling like #4. I hope to reveg this one and #4

#4 is the most interesting of the 4 plants. I wonder what a floral pheno means? anyone know? It is a really well formed plant(I'm a lousy pic taker and cheap camera). Nice buds all the way down. The plant is only about 30" tall but the main cola will end up 12" or more I think....and it is very firm. Buds are very sticky to feel ,but trics are nothing to brag about. We'll see what trics do in the next week or two. I'm thinking these will all go 12 weeks or so.

Thanks. I appreciate it more than you know

Does anyone who has grown this strain know what, if anything, a "floral" smelling pheno means? as opposed to the more piney/skunky smell of my other 3 phenos?

Thx

Hello MTweedman,

Not a problem, didn't have time to really reply the other day. Was in a rush, but didn't want to lost the thread. I'm a big Thai and Thai Hybrid fan. Thai tanic is one of the best if not the best Thai Hybrid out there. That is in seed from from a seed company. As for the floral smell. I would guess a more Thai pheno, but then again. The older Thai genes would also have either a Chocolate or Spicy taste and smell. I'm guessing more one the Thai pheno you have there. I could be wrong, but the others sounds like all Skunk side of the cross. Very nice plants glad you enjoyed them. I've got a pack waiting to grow and also a pack of F2's. Can't wait to run them all. You take care and very nice plants and grow.
Later,
BG

Thanks for that info. I guess I'll find out here in the next few weeks. They are at about 66 days of flower give or take a few days. They were strange plants in a way. I germed 4 different strains originally. The Tahitanics were the last to sprout, although 10/11 did sprout. All but 3 looked so pitiful and spindley early on. Then once they did shape up they did OK. Very tight nodes early on on all 4 females. 6" tall they had like 7 nodes. But then is when I began underfeeding them. yadday ydadda.

How do you think they will smoke? You like Thaitanic for smoking?
Buds look and feel dense. Any special thing to do for cure? I hope it is a heady, mildly trippy, up type smoke. I'm tired of the indicas.

I wish these thaiTanics would finish!!! LOLOLL!

Day 71 of flower and trics still all clear as a bell. They say this strain can go 12 weeks, and it's looking like 12 weekers is what I may have.

The bitches gotta hurry up though because I have my SuperSilverHaze, Skunk Haze, and DP needing the space!! They are like 4-5 weeks in veg and 16-18" tall. I already topped them, twice!!

Well it's now day 73+ of flower for my ThaiTanics.

I chopped the Satoris.

I also cleaned out my hydrohut with strong solution of peroxide. I did outside of pots and saucers too. I have new plants I need to get in there, the two pictured are the first of 6 to need flowering....like NOW!!

Lights are on 10/14. Nothing but water for last week or so. They need to die though even though they smell wonderful, pungent/piney/skunky smell...except the one that's more floral.

I can see where this strain could get really HUGE if you grew it right.

The yield would be really good IMO. I hope I haven't fooooked up the way these are going to smoke. They look great even though they are small plants...about 30-32" or so.

Well I don't know what could go so wrong, but this is the first of my ThaiTanics that I cut. I had to cut it on Day 79+ of flower. The other 3 are still in flower on day 83+.

This one doesn't smoke any different to me than the indica beaster they sell around here. There is ZERO up to the high. No "cerebral" effect at all. It is a total disappointment. I can only hope the other three will be better.

Has this happened to anyone who has actually grown ThaiTanic? I mean this plant just doesn't smoke worth a crap. Does growing from seed 12/12 screw them up that bad?

Anyone have any insite for me?

MT

I guess nobody does have any info on this strain...and apparently the people at TFD don't care much about helping either. I guess I'll take my business elsewhere in the future.
