xyz - revegging is a bless - it also shows u if the genetics are lightsensitive in a good way hehe - if it doesnt reveg it would most likelly clone bad too hehehe
but seriously - when u plant more than handfull of seeds its the only option a normal indoor grower can do - i mean last time i planted 130 seeds - it would be crazy to take clones of all them,, ..

Bone its not takeing a clone from each from each thats crazy its keeping track of them for two months while you figure out which are the better phenos's. Finding a winning pheno out of that many probably would be difficult too lol

Now have five above soil with another two just visible. I have to go away tomorrow for one night, so given them enough moisture to survive, but looking good so far...

Day 28 for me XyZ...on the Cocoa Grow...
Eight sprouted.
Four were mutants.(they are fading under the herb canopy) Four were straight growers through the true leaves and then next node which were tri fingered....but, now I am experiencing the first set of five bladed leaves to crinkle like very much. But they're still pumping out..just a tad slower than last week. The four mutants might not have the constitution to make it into flower...so it looks that Four Cocoa Crinkles will..however they are being grown outdoors the first month. UV light Baby~gimme a sativa pheno please -Dagnabbit :I can't get the pics to upload . I'll try again next Sunday/next oppoprtunity. All stems are dark purple. The plants are just begining to smell of a woodsy windowsill herb garden. We have landed smack dab in the middle of the Blueberry Sativa world...its krinkled, it's crazy...but its fun and I think we are all very fortunate to have made it this far in DJ's game.- He has this great stuff available now that should top the scales and reward us with little variation and much Cocoa and Vanilla keepers. I wont be flowering these plants just yet. The fuller flowering expression in my opinion can be better if I can veg and hold out longer... (2 more weeks)! Plus I need more roots and stem thickness or I won't have anything similar to a lasting yield. I been smokin on the Blue Satellite x F13 all month and it'll be gone in two more weeks...I have sacrificed a lot of yield from others strains that I could have grown out if I were'nt in the middle of this search for highs in these Blues. But you have to pay a little price of time to reap latter rewards.-You want to grow out enough to find THAT plant.-There are'nt any traffic jams on the extra mile...and sometimes the Champion/world-Class DJ rewards are on the extra mile. Happy Growing~update next week- Alkaline-out

All 8 of the sprouted seeds are now above soil. The two that didn't sprout don't seem to have germinated, though I'll give them a few days yet just in case. So far no sign of any twisty specimens - one or two had quite stubborn seed cases and seed-veils, and I had to help one or two shed those, but now they're all up, they look good - pics tomorrow.

Nice E-man! so it looks like mr.A leads the race...
but not more for long, my plants are already 2 days in flowering ![]() i don't care for yield at all, at the moment i have so much to smoke (indoor/outdoor) that i really don't need more for a half year or so Now in this grow i'm just hunting for the best phenos, which will be later reveged. The plants from both lines are physically in the early veg stage, so there is not much difference so far ...the situation is still the same, half are normal and half are showing some deformities but they want to grow  |

actually i don't have a clue why some plants from the blue lines are so irregular in growing, i remember from a Dj article that the original Thais (especially the chocolate thai) may be treated with a mutagenic regimen. there is also an other explanation for this abnormal traits, linked with the transgressive segregation.
~here are some Dj words; I used to think that the deformities witnessed in certain lines of cannabis were strictly the result of a mutagenic regimen such as colchicine. Variegation in particular is a typical symptom of such a process. If such a process were used on the varieties of cannabis I have worked with, I assume that it was in the Thai lines as that is where most of these traits seem to originate. There is, however, another aspect to consider regarding these anomalies called transgressive segregation. Transgressive segregation refers to the situation where the progeny from crosses of distinctly different P1's exhibit characteristics beyond what either parent exhibited. A good botanical example is that of the cabbage family from which broccoli, cauliflower and Brussel sprouts developed from the same meager beach cabbage. This is the level of the diversity witnessed in the f2's and beyond crosses of the plants that I have worked with. The combination of the two very pure, unique and distinctly different varieties of indica and sativa resulted in the extreme variation in the f-2 and beyond progeny. This is where the anomalies, irregularities, eccentricities and effects of transgressive segregation are witnessed and isolated. It is from this extended diversity that new and exciting lines are discovered and isolated. Simple leaf irregularities are no reason to abandon a particular line, and perhaps are an indication of something worthwhile. -the whole article is here; https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=41880&page=1 i'm sure that Dj is growing & breeding his herb only organic, all his strains also love the outdoors. though the main point from his work is in the quality, so from this point it's understandable that the leaves are absolutely not important when smokin' the finished product. there are other priorities if the selection process is done with the bong... in fact, nice leaves have nothing to do with smokin the resin from the flowers. the "mutant" plants are often very interesting, most are flowering nice... with special large trichome heads. now it's the choice what each person wants, the classic standard-lookin cannabis till the end of the life? or one day you may want to experience the more wild-unusual plants ![]() Last edited by XyZ; 10-29-2007 at 03:34 PM.. |
