I tried the AN line for a year and could not get over how "dirty/salty" their nutes are. I have had many years on PBP line, Canna(best out there imho) and many homemade organic grows with great success. Tried some of the DutchMaster stuff too. Didn't seem to matter what I used the thumbs were allways green!
So I bought in to the advertising that you all are paying for (not to mention the fancy Hummers and mansions these guys have) and tried the full line. Sensi A&B, sensizym, voodoo, tarantula, mother earth tea........Followed the constanly flawed or under revision calculators and participated in the forum discussions. I tried very hard and it was a pain in the ass for no better yield. I even believed that crap about the increase in dry weight thing where you cut the water and lights early. Then my 165 IQ kicked in and realised that they had fooled people in to pre-harvest drying such that the final dry weight was a higher % of the initial harvest(wet) weigt. DUH!!! If you start with a drier plant at harvest guess what. I know I am on a rant of sorts, but the advertising is thier trick. I spilled some SensiGrow A one time and it dried up and left large crystals of salts. It truely looked like epsom crystals!! Then I got smart and poured a little of A & B on seperate mirrors and let it dry. Oh my god! Try that with canna. Hell even CNS-17 is less salty and leaves less residue and it looks like Elmers glue to start. I just think that AN has substandard products and excellent marketing. The marketing has caused trouble for grow shops (legal issues). As a matter of fact I won't shop at those places that carry it as AN has told the world what you are doing with it. If you believe that the product is any better or cleaner and that they actually do all that research then go ahead. I just tossed (garbage can) about 300.00 dollars worth of their crap that I had laying around for a while. Sorry to piss all over this forum, but what a waste of space and time. |

dude. nutes are like cars.
if you want to drive a bullshit honda HX you will still get there. dosent mean you will have a plush comfortable ride. personaly AN is like a cadillac, canna is like a mercadies. were all getting there. so if u want to use something else DO IT!!! at this point the chemistry is going to work with any product. home made or botanicare if the plant needs it. people dont need to eat kobe beef, but they enjoy it and say its worth it. go use GH or some bullshit. get outa here.

my first grow was with miraclegro and my last grow was with AN. They both grew beautifully and I'll take the latter over the former, thank you very much. I prefer to see this as an evolution.

i got a gallon of PBP pro grow and PBP bloom using 6 50 gallon rez's...and it will last me at least 2 grows... PBP grow/bloom Liquid Karma overdrive cal-mag is all i have ever used to get constant results like these.... lets say ur tap water is 300ppm @.7 scale......use 10ml per gallon of PBP bloon 2ml gallon of cal-mag and i use overdrive less than half strength the last 2 weeks... uses BARELY any nutes and consistant results with no problems and not having to worry about 20 diff bottles (mostly because PBP has all those goodies combined in one package. they dont call it pro for nothin Last edited by Vdro; 10-08-2007 at 09:50 PM.. |

Vdro -
I feel it dude. I can go spend like 50 - 75.00us and go for an organic and not stress/risk the whole nute calculator and 20 bottles of marketing and such. It cracks me up tp see the AN line. Canna is great and so is pure blend. Even with the Canna it's like 3 to 4 bottles and no meter required! Especially all of the inoculators and molasses based products. What a total waste of money. Just get some earthworm castings, compost or whatever and along come the micro herd. I used to love to listen to the ThreeLittleBirds on this topic. |

Although my gallery isn't that full right now I don't think you could look at it and tell me that my organic grow is missing anything that AN would provide. That is because it is not. I mean come on the plants have a genetic limit and hitting it is all you need to do. We can only come so far in duplicating sunlight. Most are still on the foolish path of burning mono-chromatic sodium bulbs and then go out and spend freakish amounts of cash on nutes that are no better at getting to that genetic limit that the plant has. I changed my lighting to full spectrum and had to up the feeding no matter
what I used. AN is an evil entity that has f'ed a lot of people with it's in your face marketing and over-hyped line. Now I am starting to feel almost a little sorry for the negative nature of this thread I started and feel like I have said my part. I don't like animosity, but feel like the whole AN thing is worse than the feathers I have ruffled here. So I will go back to my business and let others do as they please here without further rant from me. Azeo |

Their Piranha comes in a clay carrier and makes sludge if you just dump it straight in but their nutes are first rate. |

hate to break it to ya bud..
If you were as experienced of a grower as you think, you would of known from the getgo that a nute calc is total bs and to only give your plants what they need. the concentrations are higher w AN so you use less.. usually 2/3rds less.
it is not the nutrient. it is you my friend. not trying to dog you at all, I just think its laughable when someone makes such wild claims. All ferts work. some better for others. It depends on your experience and how well you can diagnose the health and nutritional requirements of your plants. not what a computer generated calc. tells you to use. |
