Im Back.....sort of....
Sorry for the absence.....Was one of the most exhilirating months of hunting in my entire life......Had some hardcore screaming elk action but no bull for me and a very close (25 yards) encounter with a big Black Bear that ended with me adding a P&Y Bruin to my collection and 180 pounds of DELICIOUS meat to the freezer.....All in all it was some of the roughest toughest camping and living Ive ever done... Im actually glad to be back in my own bed......I still have a couple of Mulie bucks that need an arrow but that will be Novembers hunt......
As far as the New beans are concerned. Nothing got taken care of while I was gone.....The box that got shipped back to me is still sitting in the den....I thought it would have been reshipped for me but to no avail..... Not that big of a deal though, "Bounty Hunter" Ol Blue x G13/MedMan will be included since the beans have had a chance to cure... I think there are 6 packs to be included with the MSG and Darkside..... All my dirt plants look like shit, Dirt really needs that loving attention that I couldnt give while 150 miles away in the woods.....my new hydro setup kicked ass though.....I have Abusive OG kushes with 5-6 ozs apiece on them and Blues with 6 solid ozs per plant.....glad I put the dro in when I had the chance.....Advanced nutes rules the roost..... I'll get back to everyone closer to the weekend.....I plan on getting the beans out the door next Monday....Overnight so hopefully by next weekend there will be beans available...... but to those in the know a bear isnt measured by his weight, its the size of his skull......and its got a month to finish drying before it can be "officaly" scored......it greenscores a smidge under 20 3/8"......which is a really realy big bear... I'll try to get some photos up of the skull an some nugs in the next few days..... Moonshine Last edited by Moonshineman; 02-04-2008 at 05:12 PM.. |

nice! hold up....so you snuck up on it and shot it?
I dont think that tactic would work very well though with any other type of bear...cough, grizzlie, cough... but definitely not knocking your skills at all. congrats again

One of my hunting goals in life is to take a mature alaskan Brown (grizzly)Bear with bow and arrow....Spot and stalking animals that can actually kill you takes a bit of a crazy man ....and I guess thats me.....The High from the adrenilin rush you get after chasin big critters beats ANY drug High hands down.....If I ever decide to give up the herb, its because Ive become a professional full time hunter.......
I deffinietly would not want to be on the recieving end of his teeth or claws...... Last edited by Moonshineman; 02-04-2008 at 05:14 PM.. |

Bow hunt
Quote:
Being a bow hunter myself, I have alot more for a big ball hunter like you. What a great place to hunt. You are truly in the ZONE. When you are hungry, we hunt. It's in our blood. Two weeks ago my bro and I shot(bow) a ten point mule deer. And in two more weeks we are one our way too the Southern Sierras mountains for more food. All this talk is making me hungry. Lookin forward too your new beans. Happy hunting. What a great year. All your new beans are going to make alot of happy campers out there. Now back to the woods. BEAR.....he must be crazy. No just hungry. As soon as the water clears up down here....It's that time of year for LOBSTER. Every time we all go out, we get our max.(7). Lobster tacos! and some deer that has been on the smoker allll day. Life is good. |

Never been into bow hunting(dont know why)..HOWEVER been a hunter/fisherman/trapper all my life. ONLY bear I've shot was one at about 15' at a DEAD RUN at me!! 300win mag treated me well. LUCKILY I had a tag and was able to keep it. AS said..awsome meat...just wish they didnt look like a person skinned out lol. AWSOME job!! As for Alaska...GO THERE... been there 8 or 10 times fishing and seen some UNBELIEVABLY huge critters..moose,bear(HUGE),por kypines big around as a large trash can..EVEN the seagulls are HUGE lol
