Reverse Osmosis Questions

I recently moved and the tap water SUCKS!

So... I'm looking for an RO unit.

What is everyone using? Any recommendations? How much is a decent unit and where is the best place to buy?

I bought a Triton 100 GPD RO and it works very well. It actually makes 100 gallons per day too!

The ones they sell at HD/Lowes only make about 5 gallons a day and sell for the same amount.

hope this helps, my tap water is crap as well

You are going to want a six stage, 100 gallon per day unit.

eBay has very good prices. I got mine for $125 shipped and it is a very nice unit.

"The prestige of government has undoubtedly been lowered considerably by the prohibition law. "Prohibition will work great injury to the cause of temperance. It is a species of intemperance within itself, for it goes beyond the bounds of reason in that it attempts to control a man's appetite by legislation, and makes a crime out of things that are not crimes. I purchased mine through the ebay seller filterdirect . If the link stops working just do a search for his handle and view his active auctions. They were very nice to deal with and you can't beat the price. Not a single problem with it so far.

Purchased mine from https://www.airwaterice.com, the typhoon 2.
It is rated at 100 gallon per day but there are many factors which determine how much your RO filter can put out which include, water pressure inside the home and water temperature.
I can usually get @ 40 to 50 gallon per day if running all day using water from my well. Most municipal water supplies have a greater water pressure so you will be able to produce more water.
The typhoon 2 has a couple features I like such as a flush type cleanout that removes some build up by allowing it to pass around the filter directly to waste. Also a valve on the outlet line which allows me to slow down the watse water produced whcih increases the amount of water pushed through the bladder. It has a quick connect feature that can be directly attached to a faucet.
I am very happy with that purchase and would recommend it to anyone who is using water from a well source.

Thanks all for the responses... I too ordered from FilterDirect. 11o GPD with optional float valve and garden hose connection.

This should easily handle my water issues: PH 7.67 TDS around 500.

The unit I ordered is: USA 110GPD RO+DI REVERSE OSMOSIS WATER FILTER
