This is my 1st hydro attempt, currently they are 18 days from seed, 14 days in tubbler. They will vegg and sex in it then hopfully a sucessfull transplant into a bucket drip system for flower.
Heres a few specs
Strain Bogs LSD
Space, 2x4x5.6 grow box, capable of up to 1050 watts, 130w per sq ft
250 cfm exh fan, filtered inlet air
Currently running 2x250w MH=500 watts
Air temp 75
water temp 72
nutes, GH 3 part, RO water

Heres a few picks of the grow, IMO growth has been slow, there 4 inches tall on there 5th node, really showing the indica trait, short and fat. I was hopping for a 15 day vegg, that aint going to happen

Okay, now the problem plants. What is weird is its only effecting 4 out of 12 plants, there all on the left side of the tub, only the 1st set of 3 finger leaves have it, but 1 is showing signs of it moving up. These pics were taken 6 days after a rez change, but I did change my PH routine from starting at 5.8 and letting drift to 6.2. I changed it to 5.5 to 6.0, so that may be the prob causing mag or somthing to be locked out??? PPM at pic taking was 700, down from 775 so they are taking in nutes There is no OZ gen, light is about 14 inches up, fans blowing on plants, light cycle is 18/6.
Kind of a weird deal, i'm not worried as long as it stays in check. I've already switched back to the 5.8-6.2 PH schedule.

Thats it, I really didnt want to start showing my current grow because of a problem, It reall caught me off guard because it showed up overnight. I've done many soil grows and never had a prob show up that quick. I've looked at everything at OG, and really havent came up with anything definative other than a possible PH lock out, but it weird because all are not affected and there in the same tubs. Not Worried, just want to know whats going on.

BTW, to anyone who has grown LSD hydro, was it a slow sarter for you? What was you vegg time to 12 inches?

ok i am not a hydro grower any more but have done it a few times
i also used GH 3 part in my grows in hydro
ok after that been said
i can't tell if its the light but it looks to me all your girls have a slight yellowing in them
when i used gh 3 part i had to add cal-mag to it for the same kind of problem
the pics look to me like a magnesium deficiency to me.

I would also go with a Mag Def. I do not think it is pH imbalance if you have kept it between 5.8-6.2 Mag is taken up between that range.

Add 1/4 tsp per gallon of Epso-grow or Epsom Salt. Should clear them up.

I am no expert, but it does seem like a Mag Def... I, too, experienced some Mg deficiency with GH 3-Part, and was doing the "Epson Salt" thing for a while.

Then I switched to the Lucas Formula, and have not had the issue since... With the Lucas Formula, you do not use GH-Grow. Instead, you use 1 part GH-Micro to 2 parts GH-Bloom. Bloom has the higher Mg your Girls2Be are looking for...

Kool thanks guys. Mag is what I thought also. Everything was fine until I changed my PH routine and started lowering to 5.5, from the scales ive seen mag is locked out in that range. After those pics were taken I did a rez change, PPM now 1100, gave them some epson salts, 1/8 tsp per gal and raised the PH to 5.9 and that did the trick. They have grown 2 inches since friday, the plants with the leaf problem are still the runts of the litter, just have to hope those are males, I'm taking the best 5 females to put in the buckets.

My good buddy 123P uses the lucas formula and you have seen his results here but i'm a bit hard headed, I've been using GH 3part on all my soil grows for the past 2 years and I just wanted to try my own formula for my 1st hydro grow to see how it worked. I should of known about the mag, I've always fought a little mad def in my soil; grows.

Man its been an insane week of growth since I last posted complaining about leaf issues. PPM is now 1350, still fighting a bit of mag def, I cant seem to give them enough epson salts. The lighting is up to 900 watts, i've got 2x250mh plus 1, 400hps running right now, all under 1 hood. Theres still 4 runts lagging behind, hopfully there males. Last week they were about 4 inches tall, now most are frigging 14!!!!!!!! I definatly got cought with my pants down, I FIM topped at 8 inches like I normally do, the next morning the were almost 11 inches tall, this is to crazy I have to flop 12/12 now, I have no choice to avoid running out of upward grow space later. Dont know what effect that will have on the new growth from the top job, but I have no choice.

Howdy cajun, hell yea I remember ya dude , from the 250 thread at OG. How ya doin man? Yea im trying the world of water now, got a few more watts now if ya didnt notice, whole new set up now. I know what you mean about running out of space, i'm heading in that direction fast. I've been 12/12 for 3 days, no signs of sex, there stretching at a rate of 3 inches per day There also getting real lanky, not allot of new side branching going on, everything is just reaching for the lights, I think its because there so packed in tight. I definatly will do somthing differant next time for vegg, maybe a small ebb and flow tray or somthing. 1st things 1st, got to get thru this grow 1st some how some way.
