POG or Arctic Sun?
Which is better in terms of yield and potency? I need to make a decision before I hit the (Buy Now) button.

mmmm good question, the same problem is I have.
the artic sun is a white widow x skunk #1 similar to great white shark, peacemaker and shark shock. Shark shock cost the $60 dollars and artic sun $60 dollars to (in seedboutique) but shark shock come whit 15 seeds. POG is a kush skunk cross very productive, I buy now to grow. look for a pictures of pog are amazing, good yield is segure. sorry for my english. good luck. benz Last edited by benzeno; 09-14-2007 at 01:45 AM.. |

Hey
I am growing them both now. POGs are 5 weex in veg and Arct.Sun are 3 weex in veg. Both of them are developing cool. From what I know Arctic Sun likes to stretch a little more than POG because of more sativa in it (50-60%).High of Arctic Sun is very strong, overwhelming - many people dont like it, POG is strong ,but with more relaxing body stone, and nice hashy smell. For personal use try POG for stone and some sativadominant strain for up high. PEACE |

Hi,
So I got 5 PoGs fems and 1 Arc.Sun fem now. Can't tell u about high yet, but germination rate and uniformity is better expressed in PoGs. 23rd day of flow and PG are 68,70,70,77 cm tall (one later indica feno - 14 days in flow - 50 cm and much stronger and lemony + ? smell - better than from pure afghani .Shorter branches too. Arctic Sun = White Widow / Pure ... is WW from Greenhouse ? Orig.Sk. from TFD ?longer branches, though they differs in smell - PG is very light not sweet smell so far , A.S. is bitter smell... Shall wait to finished buds. Cheers. |

Hi, I`ve grown`em both indoors from the Fl.Duchmen. So far these two halfskunx were my favorite for uniformity & overall health :
PoG has germrate (in jiffypots) of about 85%-90% , Arctic Sun about 90%-95% ; Uniformity : PoG is uniform & A.Sun is very uniform ; Flowerin` strech : PoG does 3 times & A.Sun about 4 times of veg. lenght ; Leaf to bud rate : PoG got very leafy buds with much resin on leaves (if you are $grower , it makes sense to think about hash or another way to use those manicured leaves` tips that have nice potency)- it loox too leafy for my eyes.. & A.Sun has the same white small leaves, but not so many as PoG-so buds of Arc.Sun have more $appeal. When manicure before drying you must try to gently roll these leafy buds between palms to create more compact buds when dry and then you don`t need to cut of so much leaves when manicure. Smell : PoG is sweet salami for my nose - very hashlike in early stages, but not so nice later; A.Sun smells much better - no salami, not so sweet, but some very pleasant bitter smell of White Widow goes on. The more storetime -the better smell of`em. Color: both are the same- when dried and stored about 2or3 months -they get light green & very resiny. HIGH : under PoG everybody get relaxed with most pleasant body(exept early taken Malawi Gold sativa)it is wheelchair weed, but pretty active on comedown. 3 stars of 5 for long time of stone; Arctic Sun starts very clear, creeps on & gets too dizzy later. My gipsy smokin`men are very fond of A.Sun for strenght, look of buds and nice smell of this thing, though you`ll notice that A.Sun is not so long lasting as PoG. Yield : very good -both. So if you goin`for high- it`s A.Sun... |

malawiuser, thanks for the description. have been looking at POG for years, always putting it off in favor of something else.
did you take cuttings? if so, did they root easily? |

Thanks for some very interesting info and excellent report malawiuser
AS sounds really interesting, I am a big PoG fan, to grow and to smoke, this really sounds like it is worth checking out. PoG is a very short stocky plant, here my friend trained a 8" clone over, vegged for 3 or 4 days more, then flowered in 1 sq foot, she did really well. |
