i saw a surfer thread, so i decided to unite the snowboarders... been snowboarding for 9 years! anyone ever ridden up in a ganjala? gotta make sure to open the windows after you hotbox, so the lifties don't make a fuss about it. last winter i went out west with 4 buddies and we rolled out with 2 oz after xmas through new years. throughout the day we would go off in the woods and each smoke personal joints! snowboarders where are you?

i've never seen snow unless the ice in my bourbon counts, but ive got a sandboard and usually do a bit of that each summer in the dunes here in western Australia

how is sandboarding btw? it seems like it would be hard to control... i bet you have fun though...

valdez is the shit! i heard it scares the best of the best... only seen footy of that place.

basically exactly the same? altho having never tried snowboarding i cant really compare the two! but basically the same type of board, but yeah instead of carving up powder youre carving up sand. And its a bit warmer - you dont get erect nipples
Usually get the 4WDs and quad motorbikes involved too for a bit of tow action

you guys go off jumps on those sandboards at all? probably got to wax the shit out of those boards! i saw a segment on travel channel with some guys doing backflips off of plastic ramps i believe. here's another pic i dug up.

yeah basically have to wax everytime you get to the bottom lol. without wax you dont really go anywhere, but with wax its real slick, like sliding on oiled glass. do you guys use wax ???
and yep we usually take this wooden ramp that my mate made so can get a couple feet of air off that

yes we definately use wax. a good wax job should last a few days of riding. it requires using an iron that heats the wax and you let it drip a bit all over your board. then you go through with the iron and heat up the drips and evenly coat your board. then you scrape it off and do touch ups and a buff. they have dry-rub waxes with buffers for on the spot quick wax. that ramp is pretty sweet, that one guy in there gets huge air! must suck having to hike up and wax everytime.

not to mention sand is a hell of alot harder then snow to fall on.

i guess, but its still just sand, its pretty soft so its not really a problem
