SSH 5 Pack - My Journey...

Hi all, bought some SSH on seedbay on May 30, and had them in wet paper towel the day they arrived which according to my records was June 6th, pretty quick to the US, huh! Thanks Seedbay, received Mod's Kali Most as freebie, too cool. I really don't like the idea of 5 packs, not many seeds to get a keeper from but then I thought I don't usually germ more than 5 at a time anyway so what the heck, I've really been wanting to try this strain. Out of five seeds four popped and 1 just sat there for 5 days and I chucked it. Out of the four, 2 fem & 2 males. One male culled and the 1 with excelllent node spacing and structure put into seperate grow chamber for pollen collection. 2 fems sent to veg.
The first few weeks aren't documented well because I hadn't planned on this thread but sometimes as a plant grows they can be so pretty it's hard not to take pics. Oh well, on with the show. Questions are cool, also any positive input from peeps with SSH experience on the phenos shown would be welcome. Anything that is positive is welcome. Absofu**inglutely no negatvityness. (wordmakerupper strikes again)

First pic I took of em' @ 3 wks.
All pics in this post from 8/31/07 except this one.
By the way there are no brown spots on my leaves,
when limited to 20kb uploads artifacts begin to appear

One pheno went in 6 days before the other, it was about 16 in. tall in veg and I didn't want it to stretch too far in flower, I was figuring it would prob triple. The other pheno went in when it reached about 16 in.

The pics that follow were all taken at 6 wks flower of the first pheno. The top is turning into a calyx foxtail crown and is flat across the top, it reminds me of Bart Simpsons hair so I'll call this pheno "Bart". The smell is so complex I think I'm too simple to describe it, but very, very good.

OK, now some shots of what I think is the haze pheno, the aroma of this one is strange pine fuely (fuel) but kinda pastel, I'm gonna say it smells like "turpentine sherbert" so I'll call this one Turps to keep them straight. This one's 6 days behind the other so it is 5 wks.

I'll update this weekly. NS

Arrow Weekly Update...

Here's some shots from 9/6, I'm about a 4 days behind on pics and I can only
post on Tues. thru Fri. due to other commitments. Plans are to have this up to date on Fri. ;0 Even the best laid plans...
So well start with Bart, right at 56 days.

Both of these pheno's are very sparse on the leaves and allow ample light penetration.
Good budage top to bottom. Can't think of anything neg to say about them,
they have been a joy to grow and watch to this point.

Her's a "Top Shot", the buds on Bart are very dense, nice trich production,
and are taking on a greyish silver tint, living up to the name.

Ok, lets move on to "Turps", she's getting a real tartness to her aroma.
The only way to describe this lady is elegant, she is at 50 days and
she's filling in nicely, has the classic corkscrew top, my first and it is really cool.
It does one full turn on the top 18 in. In these pics she is 50 days flower.
love to sniff my ladies.
Turps definitley has a way to go, in the 4 to 5 wk range.

I've been feeding them very lightly and they seem to like it. Re-potted 4 times from original cup.
These ladies are sitting between 2 stationary, horizontal 1000w hps's.

Hey BC, thanks 4 stopp'in by, it'll get updated come hell or high water.
Hi Mem, this really isn't a comparison grow, this was 5 seeds on their own.
What peeps might expect from a 5 pack, and one seed didn't germ.

I Don't Usually Do This...

In my garden I run dirt & dwc, half dirt, half dwc. Long story short, I needed plants for my buckets
but I don't run plants in dwc till I've grown them in dirt for a couple generations. Needing to start
the ssh early because of stretch the ssh clones happened to be the best candidates at the moment
and they looked so good in dirt I went ahead and stuck them in the buckets, man they took off,
I think they like the buckets. It's a risk putting them in the buckets when I haven't harvested the first ones yet.

Week One: 2nd day flower

They were at least 15 in. tall before they went to flower so to deal with the stretch I bent the whole
plant over about a week before I moved them into flower, that gave them time to start new colas from
the branches. The pic below shows how many new branches started.

The red mark in the photo is the where the wire holds it down.

Great thread Nuggetshiner, especially so just as i put 4 ssh beans ive had germinating into the dirt tomorrow.
I was thinking of vegging them for just a week, do they grow particulary big though being "the most indica of the GH hazes"?

Hey BD, I vegged mine to about 15 in. and am flowering them naturally.
The Bart pheno grew fastest in veg but Turps passed her in flower.
Plant height without container: Bart is 48 in. tall & Turps is 56 in.

Update from 9/12 with Pics

Hi to all who are peeking at these ladies... I see those views. Thanks!
Why I call her "Bart". Don't Know why I put "it" instead of her in the
photo, I do stupid things when I'm not stoned. Didn't work very hard
on it but I think you get the point. My pics are a little smaller with the
20 kb upload limit, it doesn't compress them quite as much, they're
smaller but look better. I can't see working on the photography much
when everything I post is compressed to sh**. :( Ok, that's my rant for
today, I shant rant no more.

Ok, lol, back to what I'm here for. Bart at 62 days, looks like she's has about
10 to 14 more days, she'll be done when she's done, I pluck no bud before
it's time. Have before though Started water only, 2 waterings ago,
probably a little early but I prefer to err on the safe side. Her shade leaves
are yellowing up and the buds continue to swell...

The photo below on the right is a pollinated bud.
