Granny's "art gallery"
Hi gals! I decided to show off again after my "birthday bash" with a couple of my paintings, a quilt and a clay sculpture. I'm not sure just which order my son is going to post these, but there is a Chinese style bird on a branch; Quan Yin, the Chinese Goddess of Compassion; a clay bust of Queen Ty (Nefertiti's mother-in-law); and a wall hanging/quilt (one of a pair). The paintings were done this year, but the bust and the quilt are older.

A bit of both. I've had crows for pets and loved their sense of humor. I have this tendency to enter folks lives just before the sh*t hits the fan. I see the "brick walls" they are heading for and warn them. Doesn't always work. But for a while, it bugged me that I was the "Storm Crow" always giving people the bad news about what they are heading for. I thought about it for a while, and decided that the crow is smart and gets out of the way of the coming trouble- and warns others of it. So I am the Storm Crow telling others how to get out of the way of their troubles. - Granny

And MissNYCDF, All you need is a picture you like, a yardstick and my "secret weapon"- a piece of clear plastic marked off in a grid! Place the plastic on the picture and transfer your picture to your canvas. I used some "butcher paper", stained it with tea (nice antique look) made faint pencil grid lines and transfered the image! You just have to look at each square individually. A "the line enters the square at this point and leaves at that point and curves like this"... type thing. It takes a long time and a lot of erasing, but with patience, you can do it! It really isn't THAT hard!
And yes, I did it all stoned! Did you realize that the word "inspiration" means "to breathe in"? I was QUITE inspired when I did these! LOL - Granny

Storm Crow: I love your work. Absolutely beautiful. As for crows, they are very interesting. They often come here around daybreak and have a great meeting. They all talk at once and go on and on for an hour or so, planning their day, no doubt. And my brother told me of a crow that died across the road from his place and about 30 crows gathered in a circle around it. Cool, huh?
