Bunker Reform 4x 400 watt vertical
Hey fellow growers
This is gonna be a whole new angle of growing for me, I never done a vertical light setup before. I desided to go with 2 x 400 watt lights as I have lot's of 400watt ballasts laying around, so why not use em for something else then dust catchers. I don't yet know what kinda grow setup im gonna place in there yet, but im thinking something simple like a recirculating drip setup. Started with hanging the sockets in chains from a hook in the ceeling, that way they will be easy to ajust up if needed. There are 1 m (3.2 ft) between the lights. Placed cords from the socket to the ballasts, remember to use the right cord. I use 1.5mm 3 Core Rubber Flex cord for all my lights, don't go with anything less then a 1.5 mm core. Made ready for a big squirlcage fan, hooked up to a transformer for speed controll. This way I can give the fan less power, so now it's running slower and makeing less noise. Starting out with cutting down from 230 Volt to 110 Volt, makeing it more or less soundless and I hope this will be enough to keep the room cool. I "blocked" the door way with 2 old madresses, to keep light from lighting up the whole hallway. Atm im anyway useing the back of the bunker for storageing stuff, so the madresses don't look out of place or like there's anything behind em. Placed a thermometer in the room with memory of high and low, so Im gonna do a test of how much the room heat up and temp drops under lights out. This is gonna be fun to try something new, any input on vertical light useing 400 watt lights would be super! And how about my new Girl, aint she nice? Well court her stealing my buds, so I chopped of one of her hands! Keep it real Palindrome Last edited by Palindrome; 08-08-2007 at 11:29 AM.. |

First 12 hour Light on is over, the temp raised from 22.2 C to 24.5 C in the middle of the room and it raised from 22.4 C to 23.5 C just above the floor.
@keeko I don't know if im gonna put in a door or not, for now im gonna go with the mattresses. I don't know if im gonna use the room more permanent or just for a single grow or two, if I keep it I'll mostlikely put in a door as the mattresses could become a problem due to humidity. I don't know how well the exhaust works yet, it will change alot too when there are plants in there. Pali |

Looks like it could have some great potential. I would be interested to hear how the humidity is with plants in there. Bunkers and basements are usually pretty humid just because their below soil level so you may have to get a dehumidifier when you go to flowering.
I was laughing my ass off over the comment about chopping her hand off because she stole your buds

Every bunker I have seen has been below ground, you know so bombs, tornados and other bad things can't get to you...Well regardless, I'll be pulling up a chair to watch what happens! Thanks for sharing with us. |
