Budeyes
2 lb. creamy peanut butter
1 lb. butter 3 lb. confectioners' sugar 2 pkg. (12 oz.) size chocolate chips 1/2 bar paraffin 2 oz of high quality bud 4 grams Hash (Red food dye is optional for making them bloodshot budeyes) Simmer the bud or hash in the butter for half an hour, keep it stirred to keep it from burning. Mix the Peanut butter, Sugar and budder (hash butter) together until smooth and creamy. Forma small balls about the size between a nickle to a quarter in diamere (Medium to larch Marble sized) and refrigerate for at least an hour and a half or overnight. (Note, at this point it also makes a good snack for you and is safe for your dog). In a double boiler melt the chocolate and parafin wax together. Pick the peanut budder balls with toothpicks and dip them. Allw them to dry on wax paper, refrigerate when completely. (You can skip the parafin if you don't mind having to keep the budeyes refrigerated instead of being able to serve them at room temperature, though I prefer the flavor that way.) makes about 150 - 175 budeyes Last edited by Bromd; 10-17-2004 at 02:21 AM.. |

very nice. for health and flavor reasons, skip the parafin and add cocoa butter. improves the cocoa content of the chocolate and firms it up for the touch.
also, to help with forming the eyeballs, go to restaurant supply store and buy the small size ice cream scoop. thanks for posting this great idea. rock on bromd! |
