Been a busy girl

I thought I would take a few minutes to to show off some of my hard work.My grow area is almost 4' tall, add a 18" tub and I am very limited to grow heigth, you do the math.So i said to myself "self how can i get more heigth?" Break up the floor!!!!!!!So i did , I got a rubber maid 50 gal tub, 16" tall 40 long and 18 wide, or something like that.It barely fit into the grow chamber. The chamber had a concrete floor, what a wonderful husband to break up all that concrete. But i had to do the diggin, no biggie .So i dug and dug and dug.Got about 18" down and 16 5 gallon buckets of hard nasty clay. I then set the tub in the hole , back filled around the tub, and topped it off with concrete. This tub has a lip about 4 inches below the rim.On this lip i will set 2 sheets of 1/4" plexiglass, glued tgether and painted to keep light out of the tub.Holes will be cut for 6" net pots.I am thinkin 6 pots, and an access door.I will Put a pump in the tub to change nutes.I am thinkin I gained 20"(maybe a little more).I will have 3 Bubble wands powered by 3 dual outlet air pumps.Lots of bubbles to the roots. I will be using GH Floranova.and all this will be basking under 800 w of light.
Now who is ready for some pics.IN one of the pics you will se a peice of plywood ,that is where the plexiglass will sit.

Wowser, Journeyman!! That is dedication to cause, for sure!

What a hubby, to go along with bust'n up the floor! Too cool!!

I have a background process {stray wayward thoughts} runn'n in regards to sinking into the floor as well... Though I would be doing it for different reasons, as height is really not a big issue with me...

I have been battling res temps with my current bucket system, so sinking a res into the floor would likely help out tremondously in that area! Along those lines, have you run a hydro system in this space previously? Do you know what the temps of your res was above ground, and what kinda drop in temp you migt be seeing with this?

Sorry for so many questions, but you have peeked my interest!!

Thanx, 'n I'll be watching fer sure!!!

Looks great journeyman.................... ......

Just be careful using particle board around water, if that shit gets wet it expands to like 10x its original size and makes a mess.

Good Luck and Grow On !

Buzz bob..
thank you , rez temps have never been a problem here, but i am adding another 400w to what i had before, so this should prevent any problems,if anything i think i will have to put a heater in the tub.

Sharp pain...
the particle board is temporary, i used it to keep the tub from collapsing whle i poured the new concrete. The board will be replaced by 1/2" of plexiglass

Damn i love this place and all of you people, (well most of you )
