G13 - Diesel from seed
These five are at around 40 days from seed grown under a mixture of purple enviros , sodium and sunlight totalling around 20 hours a day in a random mixture.
100% germination in 48 hours and no runts. All showed sex around day 35 under this light regime and are not topped yet. Not grown a plant without topping it for twenty years so will take a few cuts , pot them up and flower in two weeks and let them do their own thing. Very uniform in growth and very fast growers compared to most of whats in the room. Looking like money well spent so far and they smell good even at this stage. |

foomar, you are doing great but it might be time to up the size of the pots. Those are pretty small for that size plant......

Thanks for the comments ,
Five fems from twelve plants is fine by me esp of this quality and the males were good solid plants too . Seem to get around 50 / 50 ratios over a year and 200 ish seeds germed and had a 10/10 male packet last year so its a bit of a lottery i guess. Topped them out getting 2 - 6 cuts off each and will let them bush a week or more and flower. Realy should have potted them on a while back but due to planting far too many seeds recently simply dont have the space , not rootbound yet but not doing them any good though they look healthy enougth. Must pot them up this weekend to around 10 litre . |

Three now in flower for ten days , growing fast with a nice smell already.
No variation between them that i can see and cuts root well and easy. Growing with no training as the only way to cram them all in with far too many others , more a search for mothers and keepers whilst i have the time. Fifteen cuts rooted and most passed on FOC , did not keep clones seperate so if one is significantly better than others will have to reveg or graft. The males have been put to good use as practice material for some air layering and grafting experiments , this one rooted well in ten days under less than ideal conditions. Based on this result i thought it would be a good idea to graft the top of female five onto the male rootstock. Seemed a good idea at the time......... Seen it done with tomatoes but not canna. |

Day 40 and despite poor light levels they did not stretch too much.
Only fed once with tomato nutes and no Pk boost first time around from seed so i can see the plant better. Useing soil based compost and minimal nutes is allowing me to flower out a larger number of plants than usual with a lower yield but high quality . The winners get a go in the hydro later with plenty of space and a lot more light if i like the smoke. Think i might need a carbon filter soon...... |
