The Iceman,
I found the SwB, (SPGX(NL#5XHz))XBlueberry, to be the most interesting Blueberry hybrid I tried till now. My SwB cut, that we call SilverBlue over here, has a very pleasurable taste and smell which range from camphor to lemony with some hazy undertones. I really hope you used a pre-98 Greenhouse's SSH and if that's the case I would say your cross, well worked, should give you some interesting results. Maybe you should call it Super Silver Blue.. Keep growing. Peace.

Why is that kashgari ? Shanti has stated multiple times the parents are the same so why would it make a difference pre 98 or current ssh stock. Were the parents indeed lost ?

So pre 98 greenhouse SSH = real shanti parents after 98 GH SSH (shanti left) = see the report  Since shanti is at MrNice, the SSH parents too. hope to help anyway, this cross sound good...can't wait to see some flowers from these seeds. take care

Sorry bout that, I didn't check the link. I just assumed he had used mrnice ssh cause he posted in this forum. The swt blue is a great line, I've crossed my selection with la nina with some very satisfying results.

Kashgar - have to agree the Sweet Blue blows any Blueberry I've ever tried away and the pheno I used reeks more of blueberry then any blueberry I've ever tried aswell. One of the SSH I used was from the pre-98 greenhouse with the other one being this outstanding pheno my buddy Bubba Dutch found. The phenos are all over the place on this hybrid but thats all good as I like variety especially when every pheno is good in its own way which looks to be the case.
Brookie - I dont think the parents were lost but sometimes breeders rework there strains over the years..that being said you can find something just as good now in a pack of SSH as you could then. Skar - these are pics from the seeds I made... I made like 200 of them...lol...hoping to find the perfect mix of both strains and then stabilize it here is a couple select shots...35 days 12/12

Iceman, just wondering regarding your cross, you used 2 hybrids, how variable are the offspring? Are the phenos all over the place, or not?

Ezra - well I just popped 6 seeds from the greenhouse cross and 4 from Bubba Dutch's pheno and got 5 females from the GH and only one from the BD.... I culled the males this time as I'm just looking for a killer female at the moment but next round I'm gonna try and find a few standout studs... and no one pheno is alike...definitely all over the place though a few already have strong haze smell and another the blue smell. The top two pics are from Bubba's pheno and dont have a real strong odor yet but looks to be the big yielder in the bunch but who knows after its all said and done as those hazy phenos could blow up.
