Hello everyone, this post will detail my security issues concerning my grow, I chose to post this here cuz ICMAG is one of the few places I can go to speak my mind about my beloved hobby, also I feel that suggestions, opinions and concerns posed by fellow growers could possibly be the most valuable feedback.

Okay, just to start thigns off I have a very small grow op, just a t5 cab. No smells leave the house, I do not sell cannabis, and never will, I also throw nothing away in regards to cannabis (even seeds and stems).

My issues arise in the fact that in the past I made the mistake of letting people know I grow. Not many know of my current grow and the ones that do are very well trusted. Even fewer have seen it, it seems some unavoidably know, i.e: girlfriend, roomate.

The grow I opened my mouth about was done at my old house from which have I moved (not for cannabis related issues). I never sold that weed either, and everyone that knew were friends but all were not close (just too many). Barely anyone asks me about growing anymore, the people I used to grow with ask how its going and what not, all great people whom I trust whole heartdly. Seems as though others have just forgotten of my hobby, or just don't find growing interesting anymore.

I guess I am just worried that I am still associated with growing amoung my group of friends and associates. I have never had any issues with security or close calls with LEO, maybe due to the low-key nature of my grow. I also have no criminal record and live in a state where my charges would not reach felony levels.

My questions to you are, is there anyone in a similar situation? does anyone feel I am being dumb or too lax about my grow? Is this level of paranoia normal? Is my paranoia misplaced? what is more probable, a break-in robbery or LEO? Whats the process with verbal tips and snitches?

i live in a place where i would get, at most, a few hours community service and a suspended sentence . even at that, nobody knows about my tiny personal grow . to me it sounds like way too many people know about your grow . i think it might be a good idea to shut it down for a while, casually mention to the people who knew that you miss growing, and then, at some point in the future, get back into it WITHOUT telling anyone. preferably in a place where there are no room-mates. good luck.

I may be soon living alone in the same spot and begin to slowly tell all of those who know that I stopped. Recently, I have been casually telling pople I stopped but only if asked about the subject. Why do you believe I must move?

At the very most, the only person that should have any knowlege is the girlfriend. You find out real quick who your friends are after they have been arrested and are offered an out for ratting.

I would tell everyone that the girlfriend made you quit and even buy a quarter off someone THEY know so they believe you. There is no reason for anyone to know and it can only lead to problems if the circumstances allow.......

if its summer time or hot weather, you could say you quit growing because it gets to hot and growin weed is hard to do..

Yea I was going to tell everyone that my landlord is not cool with it (even though he is) and that I got mites and just tore it down. JJ... buying the weed off someone they know is a great idea!

Just tell everyone you bacame religious, and the people you told for some reason that arent your friends, Just tell them thta you dont smoke anymore, because you got caught and have to take random drug tests for probation or maybe say you have to take random drug tests for work. Unfortunately not everyone in the weed communitity is trust worth, Sometimes even really good friends. Mainly because they sometimes thing bragging is cool or dont think that is that big of a deal to share your secrets with people that shouldnt know. As far as telling girlfriends, I dont recommend tellingn them till you are 100 percnt sure you cant trust them. I had one of my biggest problems at the grow because of a girl. She wasnt my girlfriend, but a buddy I was growing withs gf and she didnt mind, till her and my buddy started arguing. THen that became her best weapon when in really bad arguements (one time really bad). Reguardless, Id say 9 out of 10 times if not more the cops show up because you told someone that you shouldnt have. So if you dont mind three hots and a cot or paying a lot of money to lawyers to get you off (and not in the good way) then Id keep your little hobby to yourself.

You moved from the place you previously told friends you were growing at.

Your only growing for personal. A t5 cab is no big deal.

IMO you are way too paranoid.

Even if you were at the same house I wouldn't worry about it.

I don't understand all these people out there with little personal grows that are worried about friends turning em in. What kind of friends do you people have?
