What size pots?

Hello everyone

After reading alot of good stuff here I have decieded to do a coco grow..
I am very excited as I have only ever grown in soil...

I am planning on running 4 x 600 with 4 plants under each light.

Please can someone indicate a good size pot to use? I have seen people using alot smaller pots with coco on here. I don't want to go to smaller though as I hope to 56-84g per plant so need them to have a big roots to get this...

I am builing a enclosure for this and I am trying to sort the temp/lighting out.

I am thinking of putting a piece of glass on the reflector to stop so much heat coming form the light and allowing to get the plants closer...

I think I have seen this before but would be great if someone could confirm it?

Cheers

i think if u use 25 liter pots (5 gallon) u should - with about 2 months veg more or less - get around 100g+ per plant. with 600W. atleast! in good condicions u can expect maybe even more.

depends a lot on genetics etc

peace

That can be done in a 3gal root zone....
I think this area is murky 'cause of all the varying approaches....anyways, you can get your goal in a 3 gal rootzone also...I have considered 5 gal, but I think 3 gal is fine for my show (and less expensive)...like I said...it depends on a few things...there is no monolithic answer

It helps, but not as much as ventilation and/or AC
....make sure the glass is tempered...if you pull the hood with a blower or inline it'll help a lot....
The glass alone won't do a whole lot IMO

good luck with your foray into coco

Hi

Thanks for response guys...

I m thinking I don't want to veg for that long maybe month most

Perhaps I should go for 9 plants in 3 gallon pots...

I supppose I just need test it myself

The main reason I moved over to coco was to up my gpw rate...

I see 1 member on here believes that 1.5m x 1m per 600 with 24 plants being best for attaining 1gpw....

I m going to see what I can do with 9 per 600 and I ll be happy to get 400g to begin with as its my first time in coco, I don't want to more than that per light ideally...

I m secretly hoping for me just because of the info I have from this great forum to help me plus the great people he to ask questions if problems occur!

When I start the grow I will document on here..

Cheers

My .02, 3 gal are plenty.

On veging times, know your strain. Veg only long enough to get the height you want. If not you might run out of headroom without having to bend the tips of the plants over. For example: Some phenos of White Widow when only vegged for 2 weeks and to a height of 14" at the flip, can end up almost 5.5' in height from the top of the coco to the tip of the main cola. 6.5' total.

Good luck on the grow and keep us posted.

Peace
