he ones used forPhoto URL:

fish tanks and air stone . The air stone sits in the bottom of the bucket supplying the roots with loadsa oxygen. The plant in there is mr.nice shit. I didnt realise how much it wud grow when i put it into12/12, It went up past the light , there was nothing i cud do about it, This is my first hydro grow so i didnt kno wot to expect. The nutes are vitalink bloom and top max bloom stimulator. Hope u all like the bud pic, there was more trichs than there was on the soil plants of the same strain. That water is full of roots il post a better pic of em wen i chop the plant.

I was wondering about your oxy pots, glad ya gota round to posting pics. I think it's the bubbler bucket renamed.Very affective method, works well in rubbermaid tubs too, with lots and lots of air to those roots lol. nice plants man.... grow on !

Haha oxy-potin was the name me and friends gave to a night that included a lot of pot smoking and percocet (oxycodone) popping. It was funny to see the name here.

BC is right, these oxy-pots are really just Deep Water Cultures. I first saw them in 99-2000 at Overgrow. Since then they have kind of become one of the hydro standards, at least for marijunana growing. And with good reason...theyre easy and cheap to make, simple to run and maintain, and give exception results. Even for beginners.

There are tons of variations for DWC, using bucket and netpots, a krusty style bucket, rubbermaids, be creative. I have even begun using Shallow Water Cultures for my seedlings and early veg.

Nice work Dr. D! Im sure you'll get the hang of the flowering stretch. I totally screwed up my first grow with the same problem, all my main colas grew past the light or right into it and burned. Good job especially for a first grow.

I just started an lsd clone in a bucket just like this.I used a sq. kitty litter pail as the rez.I also used chunky perlite insted of hydroton. But besides that there the same.I have grown soiless in promix for a few yrs. but this is my first try at true hydro.I am useing dutch nute form(D.N.F) grow a x b plus liquid karma. My ? is about p.h. What do you keep the ph at? Does the ph swing to hi or lows often?

Hey Okie,

Are those nutes organic or chemical (DNF)? I kno the liquid karma is an organic supplement, so I am going to assume DNF is chemical.

With chemical ferts, you shouldnt have TOO much pH change. I like to keep mine around an even 6, depends on the strain a little. But like I said, the pH should remain semi-stable with chem, if you go all the way organic with hydro I have heard of dramatic pH changes that need to be monitored.

Hope this helps a little.

There chem.

I grow organic with pure blend cal-mag and lq but i got These DNF Chem nutes as samples a few months. ago.I just took a bunch of clones a few weeks ago(rooted in roock wool) so i figured i would put one in a DWC set up and try these nutes.I hear D.N.F is great for D.W.C so i figure the ph is stable.Realy just wanting to see how much faster (if any) or better plants grow in chem. hydro vs. organic soiless (pro mix).

Talking Thanks for the feedback

Hey okie, about that ph iv never monitered the ph in the bucket at all but i tryed to keep the water i added at about 6 but sometimes it was as high as seven and iv had no problems wot soever so its all good, im gona start choppin buds of tonite so il post the yield and smoke quality soon. Also next grow i shall addd a porous ring that sits on top of the water under the net pot where the roots enter the water this will get alot more air to the roots, u can get them from big pet shops, and i will be using a ceramic air stone reather than a standard fish tank stone. Tanks again for evryones comments. peace.

Just as good

I had the nute level up about 2 inches on the net pots and thay did not try to float or anything.Thay are a little smaller than hydroton so thay pack around my little rock wool cube a little better than hydroton so it seems to hold the plant up stiffer and @ $20 for a huge bag prob. cheaper.
