Yts,
according to my experience with CM, you should select the shortest plants among the best plants you will see, in order to achieve the biggest yield possible with that strain inna sog type of set-up.
The SS basically express 2 types of plants, all of equal quality: some are leaning towards the BW and the other towards the Sk side.
You will have to select the one that fits you the best.

Peace.

I have different experience from kashgar. I would select the more sativa dominant phenos . They are better for sog because they stretch a little more and produce big huge colas so you can fit many plants by trimming lower branches and still get huge yields . But if you have time to veg I would go for the most squat type

have fun

A lot of people around me are growing CM.
We all share the same view on that topic.
Moreover, I already dicussed this with Shanti a while ago.

In order to maximize CM's yield, it is better to select the short ones as otherwise a lot of energy will go on building organic material rather than flower.

I m sure you can also achieve good yields with the tallest plants...CM is such an extraordinary producer.

Here is a picture taken by Shanti in his greenhouses in Switzerland.
Enjoy.

Hey Kashgar!
Hope all is well

Nice CM!Like always.. shantis' garden ..is just beautiful.

Here is a pic from 3 different CM plants, all vegged for 18-19 days from seed sprout and flowered for 9 weeks. The squat and compact one yielded the same as the more stetchy one and finished at the same time (~1,5-2oz each).

The reason I would personally chose the stretchier ones is because I would grow way less that 42 plants per light ..more like 16-20 per 600w.So the criteria of my selection are differerent to someone that will use higher plant numbers per light. If I used 42 plants/per light I would too chose the compact phenotype ..as I could fit easily many plants due to its nice compact structure...but ..as I said I grow almost the half plants in my sog gardens so I chose the more stretchy pheno because this pheno allows for better budsite exposure to light as the stems elongate more and the nodes are less tight.
The other pheno is so compact that the fanleaves shade most of the budsites and new growth emerging on the stems.

Have fun..L33t

By the way , there is always a chance that there is an excellent squat pheno that I haven't found yet because I have only tried 10 different versions from seed. I will grow cm again sometime, there are always very nice plants to be found

your gonna love the shark shock.
as far as what phenos to look for-i'd grow the whole pack and go with the classic cactus/skunk shaped ones with columnar buds running all the way up the stem-great yields-if you don't f2 them with your best male-you'll kick yourself later
be carefulthough-i kept mising the buds into the 6th week like a dumbass and did lost about 3 grams to mold-not alot but indicative of the hard/dense finished product-
great wake and bake-lots of energy and perfect for "friend-blunts"
PS-i can't decide which high i prefer-Sour diesel or sharkshock?
SD is miles ahead in tast but that's 'bout it

Yts,
you're welcome.

Here is my SharkShock cut.
It is very Sk dominante, at least in terms of taste and smell but the resin is clearly inherited from the BW side.
The buds are big and the densest in my collection, hence the possibility of mold to develope in the last flowering weeks if humidity is high.
It is one of my favourite for years, since I have been growing it since 1998.

Peace.
