I just shared this absolutely true story in another thread... But wanted to make sure the Green House guys got to read it...

Funny Story...

I made a quick trip to Amsterdam recently, and made it a point to aquire an Arjan bobble... It was a quick trip, and I was traveling light with only a carry-on, so when it was time to go, I shoved Arjan into the suitcase... right between the telescoping metal bars, which one uses to wheel said luggage about. Little did I know, that security was going to be tight at the airports that day.

The line was moving none too swiftly, and as I approached the table I was leaving nothing to chance. I made sure that my person was devoid of metals, even removing my belt in case the tiny buckle set off the machine. Sock footed, and pants sagging I walked through the metal detector without incident, and pleased with myself stepped forward to retrieve the rest of my belongings... but to my dismay, instead of coming toward my down the conveyor, my luggage was being carried to a side area by a large uniformed man.

He looked around as if to discern the owner of the luggage, and I indicated with a small wave that it was mine, and he motioned me over. After a series of questions involving possible possesion of my baggage by others, and who packed my underwear, I was asked if I might be carrying any crystal. I replied no, and then learned of his true agenda when he asked the next question... 'Did you pack any statues?'

When I answered 'yes' he seemed either a bit relieved, or a bit smug... I can't decide which. I was next directed to open the suitcase and remove the statue... please. So I did, and handed it over. The guard gave it a perplexed look, and then began to turn it about in his hands, searching for... I can only assume some cavity to probe, because next he grinned slyly, slipped into a pair of gloves, and grabbed a set of hemostats with a round piece of cloth clamped into the jaws.

He then proceded to insert the cloth into the hollow cavity of Arjan's head, swabbing in and out quite vigorously. After placing the piece of cloth into a rather bulky box with several blinking lights on it, he quickly clamped another piece of cloth, and began tickling Arjan lightly. After a few seconds of this activity, he popped the second swab into the machine...

30 seconds later I was on my way home, but the images of Arjan's cavity search will haunt me for the rest of my days...

I know... I was in such shock at the goings on, that I lost my prescence of mind, and spaced out the perfect photo-op...

LOL, thats great H3ad!!...what a funny story, something I'll think about when I look at our bobblehead....hmmmm I wonder what stories our bobblehead could tell!!!

thats a quality story H3ad, had me laughing. I like how the security dude referred to the Arjan doll as a "statue". You should have corrected him and said it was in fact a religious artifact, and you find the invasive molestation of his cavities abhorrent.
