Well here it is my 2nd indoor earth scrog. 3 x Sativas. Hell don't ask me what breed they are! I have no clue.
I had 10 plant's handed to me from my friend. They where sown in January of this year... Yes January, left too there own devices in an attack loft with one miserable source of light from a 2x2 skylight :( They where more like fuckin bean stalks when I got them stretching for light at about 2 feet tall and 3 miserable nodes only. I placed 1 out side planted it in plain old earth next to some nettles. The light was terrible almost no sun in that 3 week outdoor period. I brung her in and she was promptly given decent light & company with the other 2 lady's in the closet 18/6 for a period of 3 weeks. Aug the 24th I put them under 12/12 and these are some recent Images taken yesterday 26th Sept and day before. Sorry about the quality as it's not much of a Macro Camera though better than nout I suppose. Grow Room... Closet 4x4 Feet by 3.5 feet ceiling space. Light Sylvania Growlux 400W HPS with 10% Blue. Fan Boxter 240V AC Temps are stable 78F with 400W Feed Nutes... Pre-Flower Veg. No additional N just soils Trace Elements 2 x 5 Gallon bucket, 1 x 10 Gallon Rubbish Bin for big Moma. Ok,
x10 Clone Cuttings taken from Big Moma... Big Moma happened too be the African Queen that was outdoors for a short period in soil. They are 9 Day's old now and these picturs where taken today 27th Sept 04. All plant cuttings seem too be vigerous except 1 "There is always one" They have all taken on nice Root Growth in there little Clone Dome They sit in a wee home made propagator from a Goldfish Plastic Tank. They are placed on a polystyrene base for heat retention and insulation. Simply placed on a window cill during the day and in a room on top of a hi-unit for the evening. The height they are placed during the night enables them too receive good temps as the house cools in the eve. I leave a Phillips Fluro 950 Lumens on throughout the night. These look like promising clones taken at approx 30 day's from flowering Moma. I got 1 Banna/Male Flower on Moma 2 I noticed it yesterday when taking the pictures. I may leave it and take some Pollen from it and x pollinate 1 latteral branch on Moma2... Will this guarentee me femanised seeds! Anyway here are the Clones in there wee propagator. Tommorrow I will take them out and transplant them into 1 Gallon Pots of the same Medium as above for grow#3. There is also a picture of Big Moma#1 when she was outdoors with her cousins..... The Stinging Nettles. Click for Larger Image Click for Larger Image Click for Larger Image Click for Larger Image So.... Phewwww glad I got them all out the way. I hope you enjoy my Journals! I will be posting an update on this grow weekly until they are ready too harvest and then the Dry & Cure and finaly the great moment of truth the tasting and smoking of these nice Sativas. I already have smoked all the small shit little buds I pruned off and the HI was overpowering (I was a greedy bastard) I smoked it all in 2 joints and whitey was bad LOL oh ROTFL the Hi was very Cerebral and then I almost passed oot lmao. They smell and taste like Mango...

Gday Hashasin, great stuff that your taking on sativa strains indoors in a small space. Ive been wanting to do that for some time now.
How do you know for sure there is no root rot? Just curious...as you said you dont use drainage holes in your pots? I dont think ive ever heard of anyone doing that with soil growing before. |

Nice too meet you I'm going by other previous grows only LJ! Never seemingly had any problems with root rot.... After crytical examination of the root balls when the Plant/Plants have been harvested there have been no obvious sign of degenerating roots. Of course there are always new roots being produced at a healthy rate as long as moma is in good condiotion and happy.... So there has too be dead root mass in the medium! I guess there are a few products commercialy available for the safe brekdown of these old roots? Though I tend too let nature run it's course and everything seems too go ok. Thank's for the nice comments on the Girl's and I look forward to seeing you around... Good luck if you decide too take on Sativas in-door I find it most rewarding as I love too manipulate these very fast growing Sativas. |

I would get a "RED HOT POKER" from the fire and quickly implement some drain holes.... Though I hope I never have too address that particular problem man... I guess that I'm not the only indor Soil Grower using containers with out drainage holes! It just seemed natural too me too leave no holes, that way I have pay more attention to my watering/feeding regime. With the granite chip base I guess that helps as well. Though thinking about it logicaly I have never watered/fed plants in smaller pots as much as the water has actualy been visible running out the drainage holes! Hope that has answered your question my man. Hey maybe catch you in the Chats IRC#. Oh I never had time today too pot out my Clones so tomorrow I will get that done. Damb these mamas are stinking me out... Last edited by The Hashasin; 09-28-2004 at 07:59 PM.. |

nice grow
I dont understand how you can go with out holes in youre pots? How do you know when thay need watered?I wait untill the pots get light.I guess after the roots grow to the bottom of the pot thay might suck all the water off the bottom if you dont water often.I bet if you make holes in the bottom so thay dry out faster and you water more thay would grow better.Just my 2 cents.Nice grow

It's something that you can not teach it comes natural... Next grow I will however punch some holes through the base. I still think though if you can see liquid coming from the base of a pot your overdoing it! I take my time too water plant's Okie and observe there status through out the day I know whether they have been under or over fed or watered.Thank's for the thumbs up on my grow man and nice too meet you, see you around. |
