what reasons can i give a landlord for why i want to rent a 3 bedroom apartment?

coming from a landlords point, we dont care. As long as you can pay the rent. If old enough, say your kids come to visit on weekends or that you have alot of stuff or you are going to make one room a home office, etc etc.

Dont say you are going to have other adults living there or they will want all adults on the lease (a good landlord would)

A good landlord will also keep tabs on their property so renting a house may not be good unless you have an out of town landlord.
