Sh*t...
Got a call yesterday from insurance co. (not my agent, the actual company). My house insurance is up for renewal June, and they insist on doing a full house inspect before they'll renew policy. Almost 20 yrs. with them - never made a claim. He's coming in Tues a.m. - guess I'm gonna hafta move my gro, and clean the hell outta my house. My missus sez her friend just had same thing, and they swabbed all kinds of areas in house. Hope that's just mold they're lookin' for, cause a pot swab on me or my possessions would blow up their testing machine. Crap... ws |

It's something to consider - I do have an outdoor shed at the back of my yard, maybe I could stick everything in there...

i would just want to be on the safe side, as if they found some plants, or anything of the sort it wouldn't be good.

I wouldn't put it in the shed...if its on your property they might wanna even check the shed too. I'd say the uhaul idea is a good one.

You haven't made a claim in 20 years. Do you really need insurance? lol
What do you value more, growing or paying for something you're never gonna cash in on. I say tell the insurance company to take a hike.

I second that, definitely shop around at the very least, you might be pleasantly surprised. Their competition knows of your claim history as well, bargain with it. In the mean time, ensure that 'somthing comes up' next tues.

Exactly.. the insurance business is cut throat to begin with so theres no reason you have to take any kind of shit. Call em back and tell them they can look all they want from the outside [ considering I dont think theres any law stating they are allowed in the house in the first place.] .. otherwise just go ahead and switch.
I had my insurance guy mail me a letter telling me I had to get the eaves of my house painted and my gutters fully repaired before they would renew on my policy. I called him back asking if he was positive that thats the way he wanted to do business with me. He gave me some crap line how the company was 'reviewing' all their policies the same way. I politely told him he was full of shit because I knew damn well it wasnt the 'company' that came over to look my house over and make that recomendation it was him. I also told him he could expect me to cancle by the the end of the week. I saved about $150 a year going with someone else.
